    3. For a long time I have been unable to find any information on my gggrandfather, Willie or William Johnson. The only information I had came from my ggrandfathers death certificate, which gave my gggrandfather's name as Willie and he was born in GA. I knew my gggranmother's name, Delia A Duke Johnson, and I found her on the 1870 census for Calhoun Co., Ga, living 2 houses from her parents and 3 houses from on brother. She was living there with her three children. My ggrandfather, Ben Hill Johnson, married Margaret Tululah Ingram, in January 1878 in Clay County, GA. I had a lot of information on the Ingrams so when a distant cousin suggested I contact another cousin related to the Ingrams I almost didn't. I finally wrote to the Ingram cousin last Oct. Well, on Christmas Eve I got a nice Christmas present. I got a package from Columbus, GA from another relative saying his cousin had sent him a copy of my letter. In the letter, as an afterthought, I mentioned I would really appreciate any information on William Johnson. This new cousin says William Johnson was not listed in the roster of Confederate Soldiers because he died early on. But he sent me copies he had of Delia A. Johnson's application, signed in 1891, for a pension as the widow of a Confederate Soldier. He also included affadivits from three other veterans, John Cotton, J.S. Bradwell and M. Cleveland, testifying to the service. His name was William P. Johnson. He married Delia A. Duke on Dec. 30, 1854 (my ggrandfather was born 12/1855). He enlisted in Co. G, 17th GA Volunteers on July 1, 1861 and died of pnuemonia in December 1861 at Culpepper Courthouse, VA. There is no information on where they were married or what county he was born in. But this is more than I had. I don't know if this information will ring a bell with anyone or help them with their own research but I wanted to put it out, even if it message is a little wordy. Happy New Year Everyone! John R. Johnson

    3. I have a grandmother named Cordelia Duke Logan Sapp. Could you please give me the names of the parents of Delia A. Duke Johnson and where they were from? In my line I also have Johnsons, namely, Colin Johnson from Virginia who moved to Missouri by way of Kentucky. It is a reach, but one never knows. Thank you for any information you care to share.
