I've got an old collection of family postcards written to my GG Grandmother Ann Gillies GRANT from James & Jessie JOHNSON. They are sent to her address in Buffalo, Erie County, NY and they addressed her as "Auntie." They were sent from California around 1910 where it looks like they lived for a short while. After that they returned to New York and seemed to live in Rome and Yorktown. Anybody have JOHNSON ancestors with GRANT or GILLIES connections? Rodger Marlton, NJ
Hello, I do have gg aunt Jessie Johnson (spouse of Albert) who was in Vaudville during the early 1900's. For awhile they were in Europe but spent much time in California. Vern Johnson (Juggler) was also was involved in the troupe. Children included Alta (contortionist/ acrobat)and Alva. They were all quite talented singers and musicians. If you see any of these clues in the postcards, you may have hit upon the right family.
