Your Thomas county Johnsons are in the same time period and county as my Thomas county Johnsons. Mine included James who migrated from Virginia to S. Carolina by 1789, wife Martha Summerlin Colson, Susan Barbara (married Richard H. Thomas of Union Co., S.C.), Thomas Jefferson Johnson, who fought along with Richard Thomas in the war of 1812 (by that time, they were in Pulaski county, Ga) and Eleanor who married Josiah Everett. Thomas Jefferson Johnson proceeded to help found Thomas county and probably had something to do with naming it after relative General Jett Thomas, then founded Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, where most of these folks are buried. (They give daily tours of the plantation). Family still in Thomas county till end of Civil War. If you have any info on relations, I would love to have it! This mirrors my Johnson line, can we compare lineages? --- Tammie Cawley <cawleytammie@yahoo.com> wrote: > John Wesley Johnson born about 1829. Married to > Susan then to Louisa.
