Hi everyone, I have a John Johnston listed in the household of my 3rd Great Grandfather. This is from the 1860 Smyth County Virginia census; James C. Smith 61 constable b. N.C. Lethy M. 53 b. N.C. Mary F. 21 b. N.C. Martha E. 16 b. N.C. Amanda C. 14 b. Va. Henry C. 10 b. Va. John Johnston 63 b. Va. Would anyone know who this John Johnston is? According to the census info he was born in 1797 Va. I found these marriage records; Lydia Smith to John Johnston 11, Sept. 1843 Smyth Co. Va. Also this one , a bit to young, but may be related Susanna Smith to John Johnston 4, Oct. 1810 Wythe Co. Va. ..............Bob Smith
