Does anyone know why these Johnson are living with Margaret Ashby on the 1850 Pike Co., IN Census? 1850 Pike Co. IN Census: Margaret Ashby age 49 Samuel Ashby age 28 Mary Ashby age 24 William Johnson age 4 Ephraim Johnson age 3 Benjamin Johnson age 1 I have found the following which I think is this Margaret Ashby. Margaret Johnson m: 2/15/1822 to William Ashby (William d: abt. Jan. 1849 Pike Co., Indiana) I think, but not proven, that the following Frank is Benjamin Franklin Johnson b: May 27, 1849 in IN. 1870 Patoka Twp. Pike Co., IN 201 Johnson, Frank 21 m farmer 1600 100 IN Mary 18 IN (Benjamin Franklin Johnson m: Mary Jane Wagner) Benjamin 2 IN (Benjamin F. and Mary Jane's first child was Benjamin Elias b: 1/10/1869) I think that the following Samuel and Mary Johnson are the Samuel and Mary Ashby listed with Margaret Ashby on the 1850 Census and the Surname is listed as Ashby instead of Johnson and maybe a relative of Margaret Johnson Ashby. 1870 Logan Twp. Pike Co., IN Line 124: Samuel Johnson 51 Blacksmith - 175 IN Mary 46 K.H. IN Grubb, Daniel 5 IN On some Bible Records I have are Samuel H. Johnson b: Oct. 26, 1821, Mary Johnson b: July 21, 1825 and a William W. Johnson b: Jan. 26, 1846 Benjamin Franklin Johnson b: May 27, 1849 also a Daniel W. Grubb b: Oct. 3, 1866. The 4 Johnson's ages are the same as on the 1850 Census Records and the Grubb is right age on the 1870 census. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has any information on any of these names.
