From: Firelook2@aol.com To: JOHNSON-L@rootsweb.com Hello list, There are several JOHNSON folks listed in one of the books in my personal library titled "From the Grave, A Roadside Guide to Colorado's Pioneer Cemetaries" by Linda Wommack. I will post them on the list to hopefully help someone researching these ancestors. JOHNSON, Charles A. (1869-1955) MILLER, Charles A. (1870-1955) Known throughout the area as the "Two Charleys", they were partners in business until their deaths. Both were from the same area of Smaland, Sweden, yet did not know each other in those days. Both crossed the Atlantic Ocean for new beginnings in America. The two eventually settled in the Longmont area, where they met. In 1892, the two formed a partnership, and did custom threshing and general farm work. Later, they purchased the Hills Land and Cattle Company, forming the Golden West Milling Company and several other interests. Miller married Johnson's cousin, Anna Nelson in 1889 and began a family. Johnson married Amanda Johnson in 1906 and started his own family. The two families lived on the farm near Rinn, and later moved to Bowen Street, a few houses apart from one another. >>
