Hi, I am looking for information on the ancestors of Alexander H. Johnson from Cocke County, TN. Alexander's father was Henry Johnson (b. abt 1846 in Eastern Tennessee - county unknown) and his grandfather was Richard M. Johnson from North Carolina (b. abt 1799 county unknown) Richard married Betsy ?? (b. abt 1806 in NC - county unknown). They had several children in NC and moved to TN sometime between 1840 and 1843. They show up in the 1850 Cocke County TN Census. Richard and Betsy's son Henry (b. abt 1846 in TN) married a Margaret Carver (birth date and location unknown). I believe that Henry was living in Cocke Co. in 1880 but I have not been able to lay my hands on the Census record yet. The only child of Henry and Margaret that I know of yet is my ggrandfather Alexander Johnson. I am looking for any information on Richard and Betsy (especially Betsy's maiden name) and any information on Henry and Margaret Carver. I am sure that my ggrandfather was *not* an only child.
