I now have another theory that the first name Wheatley was obviously taken from his mother's maiden name Elizabeth WHEATLEY. Many name were posted after my last posting of the first name Wheatley was mentioned. I think there were 17 listed in the 1881 census. Can anyone tell me if Wheatley GRAY born 1796 was the first to have this as a first name? This is my theory regarding the first name Wheatley, that Wheatley GRAY may have been the first to have this name after his mother's maiden name.
