John Luke Johnson born January 29, 1835, died 1932, native of Kentucky - I assume to have been born somewhere around Mercer County, Kentucky. Died in Indiana and thought to have been the oldest resident in Delaware County at his death. He was retired from farming. What I know - Married to Dianna Saunders (or Sanders) Born unknown - Died 1900. Date of marriage unknown. Children: Nancy Ellen Johnson - b 4-22-1863, D 9-1-1950. Married to Frank Mayes in Willisburg, Kentucky October, 1882. Died in Blue Mound, Illinois Two children: Eva Younger and Effie Osborne. Jane Johnson - b unknown, D unknown, Married to James McCrystal, lived in Arkansas. Amanda Johnson, b unknown Mercer County, Kentucky, D unknown Alexandria, Madison County, Ky. Married to Samuel Marion Vardimon (Vardiman) in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Had one adopted son,Fred Gifford Vardiman. Gifford is believed to have been his surname before adoption. Born 8-20-1908 in Charleston, West Virginia Mary Ann Johnson (Molly) Born 6-22-1870. Died at age 82 on July 7. She was married to Jesse Sallee. There was one stepson - Marvin Sallee, Cornishville, Kentucky Martha Belle Johnson born Duganville, Mercer County,Kentucky May 18, 1876. Died Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana February 26, 1959 at Age 82. She married in 1905 to Henry Carpenter. They had two children: Eunice Marie Carpenter and John William Carpenter Ben Johnson B unknown died at age 21 Bill Johnson deceased in his 50s Emma Johnson B unknown - Married to unknown Woods. John Luke had one sister living at time of his death. I only have her name, Martha Tindle of Shelbyville, Kentucky. Also one cousin Anthony Johnson of Franklin, Kentucky. He was a member of the T. N. Wise Lodge No 349, Masons in Kentucky for 75 years, and was a member of the Christian Church. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks Frances
