It is the family of Richard Mentor Johnson, the 11th Vice President, under Van Buren. Interesting fellow. It is suspected that, from my line, Elizabeth Johnson married to Moses Sweeney, living on the Slate River, in VA and then in Liberty KY, was related somehow to this family.
