My Charles JOHNSON first appears in the Cades Cove area of Blount Co. TN, in the 1830 cencus. His wife was Martha MORGAN Children of Charles & Martha JOHNSON were: Sarah b. 1828 in NC Joel b. 1830 in TN Joshua b.1834 in TN Mary b. 1839 in TN Mela b. 1841 in TN John Calvin b. 1843 in TN Winny Elizabeth b. 1846 in TN After Charles' death in 1847 or 1848, his heirs sold the land in Cades Cove. Martha was found in the 1880 cencus of Roane County TN. as head of household. Living with her were her daughter Mela and Mela's daughters, Elizabeth Clementine and Tennessee along with Elizabeth Clementine's husband, Samuel Macanally.
