    1. [JOHNSON] Book Report. - Irish Quakers
    2. Dr. Gerald N. Johnson
    3. Titled, "Immigration of the Irish Quakers into Pennsylvania, 1682-1750, with their early history in Ireland" by Albert Cook Myers. Originally published Swarthmore, 1902, reprinted 1969 by Genealogical Publishing Company, LOC # 77-92027. This book references "The records of Old Swedes Church, Wilmington, Del. (Printed by Hist. Soc. of Pa., 1890)." Depending on the time period of those records there might be considerable useful Johnson information, both Quaker and Swedish Lutheran. The author notes many Quakers were chastised for marrying there. Israel Acrelius complained that during his sojourn as preacher, about 1750 to 1754, that the young Swedes mixed with the surrounding community too well. Johnson or sound alike in the Quaker index: Johnson family, Abigail, Elizabeth James Joseph Joshua Margaret Mary Richard Robert William I'm unable to make any connection from these Johnsons to my Johnsons in North or South Carolina by 1785 and Kentucky by 1808. I'm still looking for David Johnson, married about 1785 to Margaret. I was able to borrow this book by interlibrary loan. I need to return it in a few days. Gerald J.
