Here's what I know about them. Jourdan JOHNSON Sr b. abt 1790, maybe in NC m. a Mrs WALKER. Appeared in census for Lawrence Co MS in 1840. Jordan JOHNSON Jr b. 1823 TN m. Priscilla YAUN abt 1845 in MS. Included in census for Marion Co MS in 1860 & 1860, Pike Co MS in 1870, Lavaco Co TX 1880 & 1900. Known children: Nickolas P. b. 1848, Mary E. b. 1850 (m. Luke GREEN), Benjamin F. b. 1853, John P. b. 1855, Martha b. 1858, Francis b. 1865 (m. ____ SIMMS), Alice b. 1867, Bette b. 1874, all in MS. One known step-brother, Sanders WALKER. 1870 census household includes a Mary LAMBERT, age 66, relationship not shown. Sr usually spelled his name "Jourdan", Jr used "Jordan". Family tradition claims they were French. I am descended from Jordan's eldest daughter, Mary. I hope we can be of help to one another.
