I did find Freeman Johnson in the IGI and he was married to Eliza COONS. These may be the parents of my Laura JOHNSON who married Philip FINGER, ca 1830. According to the IGI, they were married 1804. However, when I located them on the Columbia County, NY cemetery fiche (Old Vedder Cemetery), their dates are really wrong as parents. Freeman died 20 Jan. 1862 at age 50 years, 11 months, and 28 days. This means he wasn't born until years after he was married. Same for his wife, Eliza Coons. She died in 1882 at age 72. With these dates, Freeman would be more likely a sibling to Laura than a parent. So something is wrong. The marriage was extracted from the church records. The microfiche are extremely difficult to read, white on black background, etc, but that big a discrepancy surely isn't a microfiche error. Anyway, I ordered the church film and after I extract the Johnson data, I'll post the info here. Old Vedder is where many of my husband's Magley, Finger, Duntz, etc. are buried. Lovely place.
