The Bryan County Court house in Oklahoma has been given over 8000 original marriage licenses to the Bryan County Heritage, Research Library in Calera, Oklahoma. If you are a descendant or family member of one of the individuals listed on the marriage licenses below, please send a stamped self addressed envelope to the Bryan County Heritage Association, Inc., P. O. Box 153, Calera, Oklahoma 74730, along with your request. You will then be notified as to how to obtain the Original License. The licenses are from 1902 to 1932. Please do not write and request all of any particular name, you will not be able to obtain them in that manner. Please be sure to request a specific name beginning with the grooms name. They are filed by the grooms name at this time. Please remember one thing, many of the individuals lived in Texas. Some were from other states as well. There was no waiting period to be married in Oklahoma. A copy of this license will be kept in the library. The Court house will have the original ledgers and microfilm copies of the ledgers. The Library has the microfilm copies of the ledgers also. On some of these that may be listed twice. Sometimes, they made an application, then returned the license to the court house, unused or canceled, perhaps they married on another day. Alley, John Wesley m.
