JOHNSON marriage date May 30, 1823 >Madison County, Alabama. > >Can reimburse for postage, copies, etc. > >Kathy in Humboldt >God Bless > > >> Hi Kathy If you live in Alabama you can request copies of census, marriage records etc from the Alabama Department of Archives and History (ADAH) by mail or email and they will send you the information with a bill. I believe for Alabama residents fees are something like a dollar plus so much per photocopy on what they have. The most I've spent on one person was nine dollars and got a copy of a handwritten letter about his military service. I've also written to Probate Offices for records too - I did call Fresno California before I wrote and was able to get the address and fee and got a death record very quickly. Good Hunting Doris Mayer Reece huntin' Vincent Johns(t)on in Chattooga GA found him in 1850 census there but would like information earlier (he was born in 1784 NC)
