Husband to Nancy Ann He disappeared somehow. 2. Gipson Johnson b. 1816 ? in La.? married Eliza Ann Johnson b. 1822 in Leesville, La. He died after 1894. Her father was John L. Johnson and her mother was one of his wives-Nancy "Polly" Miller. Family stories say he was not really a Johnson. His family may have been Johnson, or of another name-possibly Davis?. Supposedly his family camped on the Johnson land in the Leesville, La area. The family became ill and died of some kind of fever (?). The Johnson family took in Charlie and another brother may have been named Andrew b. 1820 John L may have raised both boys along with his other children-Martin Van Buren, George Washington, Aaron ( who lost a leg in the CW), Alexander, Kosiah, Josiah, Octavia-called Tavey, Boswellton, Infant & Walton-may have been called York, Amy and Eliza Ann-twins, Nancy, John, and James. John L was married to Nancy Miller, Mary Clark, Melinda Cole, Nancy Stalsby. Okay are you confused. The good Lord knows I am. I can not find any information on Gipson. But in this family (my husbands) no one can tell me the whole story, but they never forget for a minute that he was not "really a Johnson" Poor Gipson. Can anyone Help! Charles Johnson- born - 1 April 1862, m. 1882 to Mary Cordelia Johnson born 1865 in Leesville, La. She was the daughter of Napoleon Boneparte Johnson and Alice Stalsby.
