My line: August Johnson born circa 1845 Sweden married Anna Wilson born circa 1843 Sweden. (that is all we know) Peter Johnson born December 16, 1865, Sweden married Rienski Dykstra (Jennie Dexter) born May 29, 1876, Friesland, Holland. (Both immigrated to the US) Peter and Jennie Johnson were married 1889 probably Wisconsin. They lived in Terra Haute, IN and Danville, Illiniois. They had children: 1.Emery Johnson born 3-22-1892 married Elnora Mortz (they had children) 2.Elmer Johnson born 5-8-1894 married Celia Johnson (they had children) 3.Samuel Johnson born 1895 married Cecil Dobson (they had children) this line lived near Attica, IN 4.Anna Johnson born 12-1-1897 married 1) Thomas Murphy. (She lived at one time in Santa Ana,CA and married twice) She had children. 5.Rose Johnson born 9-3-1900 married Charles Baldwin. (They had children) 6.Harriet (Hattie) Johnson born 3-31-1909 married 1) Harry Bath and 2) Shirl Litten. They adopted a daughter. 7.Jennie Johnson born 1917 she married Harry Schuring. They had a son who died young. 8.Wilford Johnson born 9-30-1919, he married Emma Louise Bloomfield. They had 8 children. ------------------------------------------------------ August Johnson is said to also have immigrated leaving Anna behind in Sweden. He was a coal miner in Brazil, Indiana. It is not known whether or not he returned to Sweden. Peter Johnson immigrated to the US perhaps around 1880 from Stockholm, Sweden. They said in the family lore that as his ship was leaving port, he saw a fire on the waterfront consuming the apartment where his mother and other siblings lived...he could do nothing and a brother died in the fire he learned later. -------- Would appreciate to hear from other JOHNSONS who may share this lineage.
