Just a few notes on these Revolutionary War Applications from 1853, I belong to a group of Jonson-Johnson-Johnston-Johnstone researchers searching in North Carolina and Virginia for our roots, we number over 45 RESEARCHERS, in about 8 different groups. I maintain a File on each County that these researchers share information; on the research that is sent in on these Surnames. A very Kind Lady who did not want to be named found this micro fish in her local Library she took over one month to make photo's off a Micro Fish machine on ever Jonson, Johnson, Johnston and Johnstone that had a revolutionary war application on file from ever State and Territory. Yes this was a huge under taking. She then used an Adobe Reader PDF and sent copies of these files to me. I then in turn searched ever one of these surnames for any and all connections to North Carolina and to Virginia, and retyped these applications into word document. I advised this group list of what I was undertaking and it would include a large amount of data. I still have the other States that Jonson-Johnson-Johnston- Johnstone information as we are only researching these surnames that have ties in Virginia and North Carolina. These Applications were listed in alphabetical order and each one had to be read to find the States they lived in. They are printed in size 4 so a magnification had to be done on each Rev. War Abstract. and then re edited. In some of these Abstract there is a lot of information and in others not much that is why the application number was placed with each card. Some Cards show a great travel pattern on the movements of these families. I am currently cross referencing these Abstract cards into the County Files of Jonson-Johnson-Johnston-Johnstone that has been sent in on Counties in Virginia and North Carolina. Some of you have already received a few of these files for your research. Each piece of information is documented and the name of the researcher that sent it in, or where it was located. These Researchers are sharing documented information on these surnames weather it is theirs or not as a Elimination is as good as a find for some one else. e are also color coding the DNA on documented DNA in Va and NC. Tony L. Johnson DNA matching Michael Johnson died 1718-1719 on Tuckahoe Creek in Henrico Co. Va. Pam, when someone is generous enough to provide you with a gift of the information and their time to do this for you and others...please don't t thank them by being ungrateful and then continue to complain...I find your message insulting to Tony and you are now taking up my time by having to read your message since you put "Johnson" in the heading and I am researching that subject....so just hit the delete as I am doing on your messages.... > Date: Fri, 5 Oct 2007 15:03:34 -0700> From: katluvr@swbell.net> To: carlette@mail.com; johnson@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [JOHNSON] (no subject)> > That's the main thing, having to open every one of them to see who it's about. Then switch to digest & you get all of those messages at once & it makes it easier to delete. Besides this is a JohnSON list......while there may be an occasional JohnsTON, its not what Tony was sharing with us. Instead of complaining (to the list), just hit delete & maybe someone will focus on your JohnsTON surname. That's the main thing, having to open every one of them to see who it's about. He should be putting the name in the subject line like every one else does.
