    1. Re: [JOHNSON] John Johnson
    2. HELP!!!! I have been trying for years to find any information on John Johnson ( born abt.1806 in either Kentucky or Indiana). This person was my GGGreat Grandfather. The only info I have on him is that he married in about 1830 to Allia (born about 1812 in Kentucky). The information I have is that John dies November 5, 1864 in Coatsburg, Ill. His son, William Thomas Johnson was born about 1842 in Illinois. was married to Susan Everston June 16,1863. His death is supposed to have taken place on the railroad 8 months before his son was born. I have that he dies on December 10,1864 in Plainfield, Illinois. If anyone has any information about "John" or his wife "Allia" would you please contact me either through the line here or personally at lagranny50@cox.net. Thank you. Deena J. 1. [JOHNSON] Johnson-- Viva Elizabeth
    2. Hello to anyone that could help me and thank you to anyone who can. I am new to this so please bare with me. I am looking for any information on a Viva (Vivia) Elizabeth Johnson (Johnston, Johnstone). I have a 1900 census that lists her as being born in Iowa and her parents being born in Indiana. This census also lists her birth being December 1872 making her 27 at the time of this census. Also on this census an Elizabeth Devinney, listed as a mother in law to Freeman, and is shown at the age of 64 born June of 1835 in Ohio with her parents being born (father) in Pennsylvania and (mother) in New Jersey. I have not tried to locate her at this point. I was told that there may be an Indian connection but I am not sure and have not found anything to relate to this. She married Freeman Franklin Cutler, originally from Pennsylvania, in Kansas- I do have the wedding date but not at my fingertips right now. They had all of their children in Kansas before moving back to Pennsylvania. The children's names are John, Willard Lester, (De)Forrest, Edd Ward, Flora Valentine, Mary (my grandmother and twin of Minnie) and Minnie. I know from my grandmothers birth certificate the birth was in Wallace County, Kansas. I am so hoping for information as all of the children of Viva and Freeman are now deceased and finding information has been challenging at this time. Again thanks to anyone who might be able to help me. Lisa ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

    3. I am trying to locate information on the GEORGE JOHNSON family. George was born in Hawkins County TN and probably lived in Cherokee County SC, before he married Ruby Canipe, since his mother and father died in Cherokee Co. I don't have a place or date of marriage but would guess Cleveland Co. NC. George died 1983 in Catawba Co. Anyone know of this family? Thanks Paula Johnson

    3. Hi Ali and Carolyn Sue, Ali, what was your grandmother's name? I am working hard on two Johnson branches and you seem to fall into one of them. There are connections in N. C. and Va. The Va. counties are unknown but the N. C. county is Warren. Carolyn Sue you have done everything but name my ancestors. I know there is a connection but have been unable to identify it. I know that one of my branches was from S. C./N.C., traveled to Tenn. and one of the girls returned to S.C. and married a Baird. She remained and eventually ended up in Charlotte, N. C. It could be noted that the Bairds lived in Blacksburg, S. C. in 1907, where my grandfather married in 1907. My grandmother was Alice Baird whose Mother was Laura Joe Johnson. The second branch is John Roche Johnson that married Lucinda Wilson and lived in Warren Co. N. C. It should be noted that he traveled to the U. S. as a teenager in about 1820 and returned to England/ireland. In about 1825 he returned to the U. S. and remained in Warren Co. N. C. It must be noted that he traveled, at both times, directly from the port of arrival to Warren Co. N. C. This indicates, to me, that he had connections there. It is believed that he had a boot/shoe factory but I have been unable to prove this. I had the DNA done but have been unable to identify with any branch.
