    1. [JOHNSON] Teller Cemetery, Johnson Co. Ok
    2. Ruby Beaver
    3. Many decades ago in the settling of Indian Territory, small towns were founded, flourished and died until nothing was left but an old pear tree marking a house site, a sunken cellar and purple Iris that bloom in the spring. Then there is a cemetery with rusting barbed wire fence and leaning tombstones amid tall grass. Teller was one of those towns, located five mile south of Tishomingo in Johnston County. Several years ago it was facing abandonment when one person began cleaning, mowing and maintaining it each year alone. Last year a few volunteers showed up on "work day". This person is no longer able to do this because of health reasons and must depend on donations. The Chickasaw Nation donated labor and materials for a nice fence. Names on the tombstones include Swindell, Brokeshoulder, Turnbull, Annotubby, Beaver, Russell, Brown, Irwin, Butler, Johnson, and many others. Send a SASE for a full list of graves and a history of Teller. Donations may be mailed to: Teller Cemetery Committee Rt. 2, Box 410 Tishomingo, Ok 73460 Ruby Beaver rbeaver@simplynet.net Researching: BALLARD, BEAVER, BENNETT, CLEMENS, FOWLER, JOHNSON, MARSHALL, PEYTON, SWINDELL, WARD, WALKER

    2. Gordon and Linda Beckett
    3. For all members: I have sent as many messages as I am going to for the CENSUS topic to cease. It has continued and we have lost several valuable people. It will not continue. I have unsubbed five people who continued to send messages after my last email and they have been blocked from the list. Now lets get back to the topic this list was set up for, and stop cluttering the archives and everyones emails with census. I do not want this list to become like several I have seen with constant battles regarding Gen and Non Gen. If anyone has comments regarding this please email me off list. regards Linda Beckett Listowner

    3. I am looking for this family reportedly born in KY. Jos W Johnson b KY abt 1830. Wife Sarah----- b in KY abt 1830. children: Nancy b abt 1848 in KY. William b abt 1852 in KY. Henry b abt 1855. Anrew b abt 1857. Angeline b abt 1859 Betsy b abt 1861-62. James Wilson b April 24 1864 in KY Margaret b 1866 in KY Issabel b 1872 in AR. I believe the father's name to be James Wilson Johnson as was his son's name. I believe this family should be listed in KY at least from 1830 to 1860... I have gone county by county trying to locate them but there is no consistency between census in the various counties so very hard to compare.. 1880 and 1860 and 1840.... Can any one help me or tell me what I might do to find this family? I do not see a way to continue my research until I know what county they came from? I realize they may moved around. Also I have not been able to find a marriage for James and Sarah. This family appeared on the 1870 census in AR. they are my gggp and great grand father. Thank you, Patricia Murrell Mata Pocahontas, AR pjmm@tcac.net

    1. [JOHNSON] Horrified,,, Its not My Site
    2. Di
    3. Dear johnson cousins: I was horrified when I got home and people thought this was my site. ITS NOT. I found it while surfing the net, I didnt mean in any way to say the site was mine. Someone had emailed me privately and said they couldnt reach it,... so I posted that note. I ask forgiveness for any misleading on my part. The author of that website is sick with a heart attack. I thought is was a wonderful site, alot of work had been put into it. When I said we were asking you to try and reach it ..... I meant the person who had emailed me and wanted to reach it. I know how heartbreaking it is as a genealogist to have someone else claim work that is not theirs. Again I am so very sorry that my words didnt come thru clearly. However I did spend the morning gathering Johnson birth records at the Tipton county Library in Tipton, Indiana... there only about 15, but I couldnt copy them, I had to type them up. I will post them later in the week. Di Wells

    3. I guess I will have to add my 2 cents worth. For those of you worrying about you providing the government information that they don't already have you are worrying for nothing. They already know more about you than you know about yourself and private companies know more about you than the government. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to get any information about you a person could want. So relax and don't get so strung out. Just remember every nights a Saturday night and every days a Sunday. I know I've been wrong but I am going to try it one more time <vbg> Jerry
