Ok if it's quiet I'll babble some - We Know from census etc records that Vincent was born about 1784 in NC - that he married Susannah Fischer in NC about 1807 (I don't have the record in front of me) Esther Majors then Apeecha Leavell/Levell in 1841 Franklin County GA. Someone said they had found a GA state census that listed Vincent with Apucha (a Cherokee Indian) for the 1848 census. apeacha is listed as daughter of Edward Franklin Leavell of Newberry SC and second wife Rachel Williams (who married 1795 Dekalb County GA) in LDS records. Apeacha/Apeecha/Apucha was born 1800 in GA. Vincent had many children with three wives - Darius, Ahashabia, Posey Milton, Pinckney, Elijah, Rachael Marilzia and many more. Vincent may have been a younger son of John and Laura Johnston of Stokes NC. or was he in Cumberland County NC. He may have been in Hall and Franklin Counties in Georgia before landing in Broomtown Valley, Chattooga County GA Open to ideas and clues for this family - Good Hunting Doris Mayer Reece Branchville Alabama
Hi everybody. Ihave a loose end that goes by the name of Ruth Johnson. I know that she married Randolph SLACK Sr. and that's it. Does she sound familiar to anyone? Barbara Swihart http://www.purpleturtle.com
Here's a little crumb for those begging for genealogy morsels. :-) John JOHNSON and Lilly ZADOLPH had a son, John Zadolph JOHNSON, about 1840 in Beech Hill, SC. John Z. JOHNSON married Johannah EBERHARDT in 1870 in Savannah, GA. John Z. died in Savannah in 1889. Zadolph Julius JOHNSON, born 1871, was the first child of John Z. and Johannah JOHNSON. Zadolph Julius was last heard from in St. Louis, MO about 1913. Where are John and Lilly JOHNSON buried? Where did Zadolph Julius JOHNSON go? While we're waiting on more e-mail let's solve these mysteries. Frank J.

A few days ago I posted information about my g g grandfather, Joshua Johnson. I have some additions to that posting now. Joshua Johnson b. 1841 in Alabama. Married Nancy J. from Miss. Moved to Arkansas 1868. Children: Benjamin 1867 Ala. Ezekiel 1869 Ark. Mary 1872 Ark. William 1874 Ark. Eliza 1877 Ark. He married second wife Hettie (b. 1844 in Miss.) around 1882 in Arkansas. I think they had one child together. Last census entry was in 1910, still in Lafayette County, Arkansas. On the 1900 Census, a Rufus D. Johnson was boarding with them. On the 1910 Census, an Eliza Scott (sister-in-law) was boarding with them.
I haven't had any mail all day have I been a bad boy?

This was forwarded to me. Perhaps someone knows about this Johnson family in Maryland or Virginia. As the subject line indicates, it could lead to possible familial connections in the country of Antigua in the Caribbean. Celeste =========== Forwarded Message: Subj: RE: [CARIBBEAN] RE:Johnson-Antigua.. Date: 03/15/2000 11:53:27 PM Mid-Atlantic Standard Time From: chriscod@bellsouth.net (C.M.Codrington) To: CaribbeanLegacy@aol.com Hi : Anything is possible. After all the bible notes are pre-1742.... If I remember correctly one of the Gov Johnsons' (there were two or three) left for an appointment in Maryland or Viginia. I have nothing but the bible entries, no contextual info nada...but one thing I do know from the research I've done on the bible so far and that is anyone mentioned is either kin or very very close to the family. So I must assume that somewhere along the way there was a Johnson related to either William Cod or to his wife Ann. But regretably I am navigating on this blind...when you lack detail you're pretty much stuck with broad searches, and have to go begging others researching "promising" things to look over their material for possible clues.... I think I have read nearly every page of Oliver's History of Antigua at least twice...(insane) but have not found anything remotely helpfull on this issue. The family bible has several names mentioned in the early pages (1717-1740's) including a Johnson, a McChriest and a Sweeney....have never had any luck connecting any of them.... There were several families of Johnsons active on the island over time re Gov.'s but considering how many there were and how relatively well placed some of them were there is not a whole lot on them in History of Antigua..... Any ideas? Chris Cod
