Well all I know of my Johnson line is that my ggrandmother a Johnson married a Ross both were born in Iowa. My grandmother and 4 siblings were alos born in Iowa and they moved from Iowa to Colorado in 1916. They moved to Akron, Colorado and my grandmother and I believe her mother were both buried in the Akron Cemetary. The reunion is being held in Akron, as my grandfather, who is still alive, lives. He's not a Johnson but still part of the family. Lori Thats great. Why don't you share the information of where and what Johnson line you are talking about? Where is the reunion being held? What cemetery are you going to visit.?

Well got a call from my aunt today. Apparently every year, my grandmother's family has a family reunion. So I get to go! I am sooo excited, this is my first one for this side of the family. I can't wait to go meet all my relatives. I am new at genealogy and has sent some questions and family sheets to my aunt and father to get some help finding out any info that I could on grandma's side of the family. She said she was still working on it and so now I can go meet alot of the family next Sunday. I plan to take lots of film and take lots of pictures. I can get up to the cemetary where grandma and ggrandma were buried, will have fun going through the cemetary looking for family that are buried there. Well just wanted to share my great news. Thanks for all the help on these lists! Lori

Hello~! I have hardly no information concerning my James JOHNSON except that he married Elizabeth Jane CARTER, b. abt. 1840. Elizabeth was born in Indiana but they may have met in Iroquois County, Illinois. That is where he divorced her anyway in 1964. Anyone have any info concerning James? I don't know if Elizabeths oldest daughter, Olive Susan was James JOHNSON or Scott S. ETHINGTON. She took the ETHINGTON name and was born Sept. 1863. Thank you, Marie Lewis-Cook *Can someone tell me how I might be able to get a copy of divorce papers from 1864?* An optimist thinks that this is the best possible world. A pessimist fears that this is true.

Hello all, I have been asked about this line, and several times of late, in regard to the fact that this is one of the early VA progenitors for the JOHNSON line that Lyndon Baines JOHNSON descends from. At this point, way back in early Colonial VA, my JOHNSON line also is descended from this man. My line descends from the son, Joseph, and the line for LBJ descends from either the brother John Jr . . . or Joseph's son, John, and at the moment I don't know which one. However . . . my data does indicate that LBJ's mother had to contact my LA line to get past the GA location to VA, and that they are definitely a lateral to me. < GRIN > I do have a copy of the Will for my Joseph JOHNSON [d. 1781], which lists his wife and all seven of his children . . . as well as the transcribed copy of the Will for his father John JOHNSON Sr. These are due to be posted to my website shortly and thus will be available to all who would like a copy. My line descends from Joseph JOHNSON m. Sarah "Sally" HARRIS, thru their daughter Joanna JOHNSON m. Nathaniel MOSS, who made the migration to the Wilkes and Oglethorpe County GA areas after 1785. By late 1810 they had made their final migration to their Vermillion Parish LA plantation named, Orange Grove, where they lived out the remainder of their lives. Since my JOHNSON data is limited to Goochland Co. VA, Oglethorpe Co. GA, and Vermillion Parish, LA . . . [and only MOSS-JOHNSON specific] I thought that I'd try to help those who might be looking into the LBJ line; ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Posted on: Oglethorpe County Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Oglethorpe?read=487 Surname: Johnson ------------------------- Rootsweb has posted information on Presidential Ancestors at http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/presidents/ Information on Lyndon Baines Johnson and his Oglethorpe ancestors is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/presidents/prez36.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope that this helps someone . . . and especially one of my cousins.
