    1. [JOHNSON] JOHNSON reunion
    2. Kelley Biskey
    3. Hi Lori, Where was the JOHNSON reunion? According my great aunt, Sarah JOHNSON, some of our JOHNSON's migrated to IA from east TN in the late 1800s...unfortunately, I do not have any names. My great aunt's husband is descended from the ROSS family of Greene Co., TN. According to a ROSS descendent I correspond with Samuel ROSS removed to IA around 1900 from Greene Co., TN. Here is the line as I know it...don't have any records to prove this...only memory of some relatives... 1. Re: [JOHNSON] Adolph Johnson
    2. The informatuion on the headstones were for my grandmother, her parents, and her father's parents. They were Rosses, her mother was a Johnson and I have no other info on the Johnsons so far. My ggrandma Elsie Elnora (Johnson) Ross was born in Iowa 26 May 1889. Her parents were Adolph and August Johnson (of whom I have no other info). Elsie was married to Joseph Claude Ross b: 7 Oct 1994 in IA and they moved to Akron, Colorado in 1916. They had 7 children 5 of whom were born in Essex, Page County, Iowa. My grandmother was 2 years old when they traveled from IA to CO. Lori

    1. [JOHNSON] Adolph Johnson
    2. Ok, went to my reunion yesterday, had a great time. Learned a couple more names and dates. Unfortunately my aunt couldn't find out about my grandmother's mother's parents-only their names. I also went by the cemetary and found my grandma's parents, grandpa's parents and various aunts and uncles buried in the same cemetary. I took pictures and wrote the info in my notebook. So, my names are Adolph Johnson and August Chistina. (my gggrandparents) So...any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Lori

    1. [JOHNSON] William, Isaac, Samuel, Galen, Daniel, Aaron Johnson
    2. In a message dated 07/10/2000 3:41:28 PM Central Daylight Time, JMJE36@aol.com writes: << She also shows (age 67) on the 1850 census in DeKalb Co AL in the home of her son, Aaron and his family. >> Somehow your line and mine have to connect as they were both in Dekalb County, AL. I also noticed a son named Issac born to William and Mary. I also have an Isaac Thacker JOHNSON, born 4 Mar 1868. He married first Luler KIRKPATRICK and second, Nicey Ann HENDERSON. Isaac's parents were Samuel David Johnson, born about 1838 and Martha Ann or Mary Jane (conflicting reports) ESTERS. They lived in DeKalb Co., AL. I found a family of Galen Johnson, born about 1795 in SC, married Mary Jane BIRD. They had three children: 1. Solomon Johnson, born 1822, married first Charlotte Marinda FLOWERS, second married Eglantine SPRIGGS. 2. Daniel Nathaniel Johnson, born 1824, married first Laura Priscilla McLEOD, second Penelope Evaline (Eva) FLOWERS. DANIEL WAS BURIED IN DEKALB CO., AL. 3. Nancy Amanda Parks Johnson, born 1832, married Eli A. DAVIS. The migration for this family was Edgefield Co, SC>DeKalb Co, GA>Randolph Co., AL>Cleburne Co. AL>Dekalb Co., AL. Shown above are three Johnson lines in the same DeKalb County, AL. Surely they are related. I would appreciate any information about the above listed people.

    1. [JOHNSON] Sarah Bean(?) & William Johnson/Johnston Marriage @1800
    2. Dear List Although I am not a Bean researcher, my lines do include one Sarah (supposed to be Bean) who married my relative, William Johnson/Johnston. William was born @1777 & I do not have any info on his parents. I have never been able to verify this marriage and hope that some of you may have that information. William Johnson and Sarah m. @1800, probably TN and possibly Warren Co. Their first child, Rebecca was b.1801. She remained unm. Next came Nancy Louisa Jane, b.1802. She m. Medlin Johnson Dunham @1824 in Warren Co. TN. Nancy d. 1835 in Warren Co and Medlin then married a cousin of Nancy, name not known. Third child was William Perry, b. 15 Aug 1808; he m. Sarah A. Jones (where?) and he d. 27 Feb 1878 in Texas Co MO. Fourth child was Francis Justice, b. 23 Feb 1812, he married Nancy Clark who was from Dade Co GA. Francis d. 20 Nov 1883 in Texas Co MO. Fifth child was Aaron, b. 13 Jan 1814 who married Catherine Clark. Catherine was a sister to Nancy Clark. Sixth child was Isaac, b. 1814 or 1815. No info on him. I have info on all these families except Isaac. William Johnson (b. @1777) died on 15 Jan 1815 in New Orleans of disease during the War of 1812. I have never been able to find a BLW or pension, although I understand there was a BLW. The only other info I have on the widow Sarah is on the 1830 census in Warren Co TN where she is next door to her son-in-law, Medlin Dunham. She also shows (age 67) on the 1850 census in DeKalb Co AL in the home of her son, Aaron and his family. I was told as a child that our Johnson family had something to do with the William Bean family of TN, but nobody had a clue what it was. William Johnson/Johnston is the only proven brother to my GG GrF, John Johnson, b.1780-90. I have searched this line for over 40 years and have a wealth of info on these two Johnson men. Can anybody out there give me some direction or better yet, confirm just who Sarah's parents were? I am always glad to swap and share info. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Judy Johnson Erickson in TX

Sorry I have not been good lately in writing. Just been busy at work (both of the jobs!)- the only excuse I have and it sounds lame! I will be better in the future! If you cannot decipher Charles' typing, he is doing better. The doctor's were very concerned about his heart while he was in the hospital. They kept him a day longer to make certain he was okay. He is now awaiting an appointment with a cardiologist - a problem he apparently has had for a while but the doctors want to take care of it now! Charlie sounds really tired when I talk to him. I am certain he would enjoy hearing from each of you. --part1_2f.7bc7072.269b149f_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-path: <N34980@aol.com> From: N34980@aol.com Full-name: N34980 Message-ID: <9.7e5f3f0.269a8f8f@aol.com> Date: Sun, 9 Jul 2000 22:31:43 EDT Subject: up dates on m,y progress. 1. [JOHNSON] Algernon S. Johnson Life History
    2. The Cook's
    3. http://www.heritagepursuit.com/Untp9BS.htm Good Morning~! I went to this site actually looking for the birthplace of my GGrandfather, Laban Washington MALLORY and came across this and thought very interesting. Hope it helps someone. Marie Lewis-Cook ALGERNON S. JOHNSON, merchant, North Lewisburg. The ancestral history of this family can be traced back to the reign of George III, when a man bearing the name of Johnson emigrated a colony from England and settled at Auburn, N. J., where King George granted them a township of land. The subject of this notice was born in Athens County, Ohio, June 16, 1807. His father, Samuel B. Johnson, was a native of Washington County, N. Y., and his mother, Rebecca Wilkin, of Amherst, N. H. His grandfather, Azel Johnson, was a soldier in the Revolutionary war, under Gen. La Fayette. His father-in-law, Samuel Brown, was all old Revolutioner, and was wounded at Bunker Hill. In 1798, Mr. Johnson and family removed to Marietta, Ohio, and in 1803 to Athens County, where he died, aged eighty-three years. In 1830, our subject's parents removed to Union County, and settled in Paris Township, where they both died; the former June 17, 1843, and the latter August 3, 1854. The subject of this sketch was reared on a farm and educated in the common schools. He came to Allen Township at an early day and cleared up a farm. November 25, 1857, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Charlotte, widow of Avar Mallory (deceased), and daughter of Gideon and Nancy Draper. They have four children-Marcella R., Lucy W., Adaline F. and Sarah A. Mr. Johnson owns a farm of 100 acres. Since he was a boy of thirteen years, he has dealt largely in live stock. I love delicate softness: For me, love has brought the brightness And the beauty of the sun .... ~Sappho~

    3. I am looking for more information on my gg grandparents, David Johnson and Catherine Kincaid. They were married October 16, 1824 in Muskingum County, Ohio by Absalom Roberts. I don't know what church or their birth and death dates and places. One of their sons was Lewis Henry Johnson, my g grandfather. He fought in the Civil War in the 92nd Ohio Infantry. Lewis first married Lydia Hartley and then Deborah Jane Jones, my g grandmother. Deborah had been married before to Levi Frazier. One of Lewis and Deborah's sons was my grandfather, Guy Tresailvan Johnson. Lewis, Deborah and their children eventually moved to Iowa. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know. Thank you, Julia. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
