My Johnsons are in Hancock county,Indiana and unfortunaely we do have a history of muscular dystrophy.I lost my 17 yr.old nephew in 1978 to this disease. It is an inherited disease and when we started researching what our ancestors died of, it was difficult because so many times the reasons were unclear. It has now shown its ugly face again with my second cousins son. He also has Duchennes muscular dystrophy.. Lois Kerr-Heffel

Hello all! I'm seeking information on the parents of Ellen (sometimes Eleanor, Ellener) Johnson, who was born in Culpeper Co VA September 3, 1800. At the age of four, she came to Kentucky with her parents. She married Christopher Shake in Jefferson Co KY in August, 1821. Shortly thereafter, she and Christopher emigrated to Sullivan Co IN. Ellen died September 5, 1891. Any clues to the identity of Ellen's mother and father would be much appreciated. Larry Murdock

Does anyone have any information on a Johnson family who has a history of a form of Muscular Dystrophy in their family, handed down from generation to generation? This disease was thought to be Kugelburg-Welander for a long time but now is more closely associated with FSHP. Paget's disease is also somehow connected with it. I would appreciate hearing from any Johnson/Johnston family who has this history or who knows about it. My Johnson/Johnston family is Johannes and Catherine Johnson/Johnston through their daughter Eliza b. 1806. They were from the Adamstown area. Thank you, Doris Matz Doris Lawrence Matz WEBPAGE OF DOMATZ
David Johnson died in Millerstown, PA in 1785. He had a wife Mary and a son Jacob. If anyone can tell me more about this family, I would be very grateful. I suspect that the Johnson family might have migrated west from Philadelphia. I also think they may be of Scots ancestry. Thanks, Georgia Whitson
