People that send that junk mail to what is a list for genealogy research should be 'unsubscribed' by the list manager. Sharon was being nice. I'm not. kick them. Randy

Dear List, I am looking for anyone who might have pictures of Johnson's from Goochland or Fluvanna counties Virginia. My Johnson's were, Benjamin who married Frances Terry, his son William J. who married Mary Hopkins and Silestine Webb, his son Joseph Edward who married Heneretta Schuyler and Susan Hall, his son Maud Johnson who married Agnes Wood Glass.I have alot of family information willing to share, hope someone has pictures...... Thanks Cousin Barbara
Craig, I am responding to your 3 Nov 00 query in this mail-list in which you wrote that your Jacob Lewis JOHNSTON was born about 1815 in Rutherford Co, NC as the son of Benjamin Johnston. My Benjamin Johnston lived just across the SC state border from Rutherford Co., NC in northern Greenville District, SC at the same time as your Benjamin (during 1785-1809). I have attempted without much success to collect information on the various Benjamin Johns(t)ons who lived in that region about that time. Was your Benjamin Johnston the one who owned two islands in the Broad River? Regardless, your Benjamin or mine could be the son of a Lewis Johnston of Surry and Sussex Counties, VA who died there about 1786. It appears his older son Benjamin (born there about 1750) was not living nearby at the time of death since he was not named as executor. Cousins of this family had moved to Laurens and Greenville Counties, SC before the Revolution. Please E-mail me and I will give you what I have on this. Bruce Nichols

HO HUM....it's just another hoax. Check it out at Urban Legends website. Perhaps rootn4family sent this to the list by mistake? I hate to think it was intentional. I get enough junk mail without having to put up with it on my genealogy mailing lists. ~~Sharon

I'm still looking for information on my Johnson's. Lewis was their father. Lewis was born April 5, 1837. Lewis' dad was David. They were from Ohio and eventually moved to Iowa. Does anyone have any info on this family? Does anyone have knowledge of Winnifred Johnson who was born between 1800 and 1810 in Warren Co, GA? She married William Gazaway Duckworth on 15 Jan 1831 and died before 1850 when William remarried. According to William's will, she is buried on land owned at one time by John J Harris. Their children were: Frances Jane, b 1832 Ann Mildred, b 1833, d 1876 Louisa C R, b 1834 Abelia Virginia, b 1837 William Robert, b 1838, d 1917 Thomas Theodore, b 1841, d 1924 George Anthony, b 1843, d 1917 There is a possibility that Winnifred was the daughter of Jacob Johnson who lived on a farm adjacent to the Duckworth family farm. I will share what information I have. Thanks, Virginia
Hi list. There is an Andrew listed in the combined atlas of Tuscarawas County, Ohio, but he is living in Minnesota ca 1805. He is there because his son Charles T. Johnson moved to Dover around 1825 or so, I don't think this is the one you are looking for. John D. Ledrich
