Your John JOHNSON, son of (Jeffrey JOHNSON and Rachel WALKER) was born about 1753 in Fauquier County, VA, and died Aug 1821 in Wilkes County, NC. He married 17 Jan 1782 in Wilkes County, Martha "Peggy" SPARKS, and I have no information about her. I have children named Jeffrey and John Jr. for them (no further information), other than your ancestor Elizabeth Mahala JOHNSON (new to me). Since she was born in 1817, there is a chance that your Elizabeth Mahala was a son of John Jr. instead of the John JOHNSON who married Peggy SPARKS mentioned above. Please tell us about Elizabeth's husband and children, and send a copy to the list at NCWILKES-L@ROOTSWEB.COM. Mike Cavenaugh

My gr-gr-grandmother, Elizabeth Mahala, was a dau. of John Johnson (son of Jeffrey Johnson, Jr. and Rachael Walker). My gr-gr-grandmother was born ca. 1817 in Wilkes Co., N.C. Can anyone tell me who John Johnson, Jr. married and who his other children were? Thanks. Betty McCollum
Trudy, Go to the Rootsweb site and type in Steve Johnson. Go to the social security death index advance search and type in death year of 1964. There is only one Steve Johnson with a death date of 1964 but this may not be the one you are searching for since the birth year was 1898. Here is what it will show. Birth 8 Dec 1898 death Mar 1964 Last Residence South Carolina SSN 251-28-1213 Issued South Carolina. If this is not him and you can obtain his social security number you should be able get a copy of his application which may have his parents listed. If it is him then just click on the SS-5 Letter, print, and mail. Good luck. I am looking for information on Allie Andrew Johnson. He was my great grandfather. He married Della Reid. They lived in Greenville County, South Carolina, and had 8 children. He came over through Ellis Island with his parents when he was small. Information on his was lost after he divorced my great-grandmother and moved to Flordia. My grandmother was 3 years old at the time and her sister Rachel was less than a year old. One of my grandmother's older brothers lied about his age, and joined the service. Thanks, Ellen

Hello Listers, I have had several messages from members of the list and want to clarify several points and then hope we can get back to genealogy. 1 Several people have commented that they do not know if the list has a listowner... I have checked through my files and they are all people who have had emails from me as Listowner at one time or another. 2 Members asking how active a list we are .. if they are indeed members they would see the volume of emails this list propduces. 3 My computer has as I have said been down for two days and I have just had 5000 emails to wade through and I was saddened to see the bickering that had happened on the list. This list has had its moments but in the main is a good natured list. I hope it can now return to that. If you have questions concerns, have had unacceptable emails as some do get through email me direct , or the person direct , do not post to the list. In future I will unsusbcribe first and discuss it later. The list is for genealogy and genealogy related items I will not be continually dealing with tantrums and arguments. I am glad to support Rootsweb and help anyone with their search but to spend 5 hours resolving something that could have been avoided has consumed too much of my time. Any comments about this email please to me OFF LIST, I do not want this line continuing on the list. regards and good luck with your family searches Linda Listowner Sign up for a free service with Paypal to make all your internet payments and receive a $5-00 bonus for sign up. https://secure.paypal.com/refer/pal=boglelodge%40yahoo.com

Let the listowner handle it & Let's get back to Genealogy.....after all that's what this list is for & not complaining right? I have 2 Johnson lines connected by one man. Don't know anything about the second line. Here goes: James Samuel Johnson m. Nancy Worth(y) no info. Children: James Jefferson Johnson b. 1865 Tipton, Mo. d. 1943 Chelsea, Okla. m. 1) Georgia A. divorced 1898 in Pawhuska, Okla. possibly on/near the Osage/Kaw Reservation. Had at least 2 kids (boy & girl) one has been in touch with a Son of the second marriage. 2) Martha Jane Phariss b. 1880 Prairie grove, Ark. d. 1972 Chelsea, Okla. m. 1899 Pryor, Okla. they had 11 kids William Ballard Johnson b. 1870 poss. Illinois d. 1915 unknown where There are supposedly 2 sister's Bertha Johnson & Viola Johnson but its only speculation right now. Family Story is that J.J.'s dad (parents) dumped him off in the middle of a road some where & told him that he was on his own. I don't know if that went for William as well. But I have no info. or even their names (parents) on any of his documents (birth, death, military) & the story is the family was not allowed to speak about or ask about them. His second wife Martha "Mattie" passed their names down to my dad & a couple of cousins have verified the names. There is a Mrs. Rogers mentioned on James J.'s military records for emergency contact. Hope someone can connect. :) Alli Researching: ABRAM--JOHNSON--ADAMS--LOVELL--WHITE--PHARISS--McCALL--McKAY--THOMPSON Adams-L Listowner Pampered Chef Consultant ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randy" <westxan@wcc.net> > People that send that junk mail to what is a list for genealogy > research should be 'unsubscribed' by the list manager. > Sharon was being nice. I am searching for any information available on E. Thomas Johnson who was born in Knox Co., Indianna abt 1812 and died on July 17, 1853. He was married to Elizabeth Horrall on September 02, 1835 They had 7 children. One being named William. He is my Great Great Great Grandfather. I believe E. Thomas parents were James Johnson and Carlley Clark in Virginia his parents were Thomas Johnson and Mary Rankin in Pennsylvania and that the father of Thomas Johnson was John Johnson who was born in 1713 in Ireland. If anyone can substantiate this or has more info to offer I would be greatful to hear more! Thanks! Jalynne Inkelaar Kansas
