    2. Happy New Year all JOHNSON researchers I have two JOHNSON family in the researching I am doing. One is on my side of the house and the other is on my Daughter-In-Laws side. As all of you know it makes researching v e r y i n t e r e s t i n g and confusing to say the least. The JOHNSON's I am interested in right now is: Joseph JOHNSON by abt. 1830 - 1835 time frame in Indiana. He married a Sarah Ann WOOLLEY in Illinois. I have gone the census route in Indiana and Illinois looking at a whole lot of JOHNSON's to no avail. He died in Tazewell County, Illinois, I believe, so I have also gone the Death Certificate - Will also. What a Brick Wall. Anyway, Hope everyone has a Happy New Year and all of your researching is fruitful. Terry

    1. [JOHNSON] Sally JOHNSON--1813--TN,AL
    2. I am looking for any info on Sally JOHNSON, b. @1813. I am not sure just where she was born but it was probably TN or AL. Her father was John JOHNSON, b. 1780-90. Name of Sally's mother unk. Sally JOHNSON was deaf and dumb. She married a man, also deaf and dumb. I do not know his name, but I believe this marriage was in AL and assume it was probably between 1830 and 1840. John JOHNSON and some of his family migrated to Texas and Dent Counties in MO @1850. Sally did not go, but remained in AL. She was married at the time and had children. Believe they may have been in DeKalb, Jackson, Morgan or Madison County. Can anybody make a connection to Sally JOHNSON? Thank you, Judy Johnson Erickson

    2. My grandmother was AMANDA LaRENNA JOHNSON and was born Dec-12-1874 at Abanda, AL. Her mother and father were killed in a buggy accident about 1884-1890. I believe that her fathers name was WILLIAM JOHNSON, but have no proof. The accident occurred in Chambers or Randolph County, Alabama. Amanda or "Rena" as she was called was brought up from about 10 years of age by an Uncle Lee Johnson or Silas Johnson. Part of her upbringing was in the two above counties. The Johnson family later moved to Cordele, Georgia (central georgia). Amanda was the oldest of three girls one of which was named LULA. I have found no new data in over 8 years and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Gene Hyche genehy@aol.com

    1. [JOHNSON] Re: JOHNSON-Tyree-Montgomery
    2. Mona Saw your post on the Johnson list. My great grandmother was Charlotte Johnson married to George Alvis Florance. But, I was interested in your line of Tyree. We are at a brick wall with my husbands great grandfather George Washington Snider. He was born ca 1844 I think in Indiana. And, also lived in Missouri and Kansas. We do have a letter from his sister Lydia Tyree who was living around Nevada, Missouri. We know that his mother Matilda married a Jonah Ruberson and that he supposedly had a half brother by the Joe Ruberson. We suspect that George was the son of Matilda as he was born in 1844 and she married Jonah in 1848. One record showed that another lady, cant remember the name right now was his mother. This would have made Matilda his step mother. We do know from the letter that Lydia had a son by the name of I. V. George also had a son by that name, but he later changed his name to Jack for some reason. Jack was my husbands grandfather. We suspect that I.V. must have been a family name. Also my mothers maiden name was Montgomery. The family lived in Franklin County, Virginia, where they were members of the Old German Baptist church. Her branch later moved to Kansas. If any of this connects with you would love to share information. Nadine in Kansas

    3. On her death certificate, my paternal grandmother, Gerthie Elizabeth Johnson, was shown born March 1894 in Arkansas. Her father was listed as C.B. Johnson. No mother's name was listed. Gerthey died in 1918 in Imperial, CA. My grandfather, John Timothy "Tim" Ingram, was from Eastland Cty, TX. Although I know my grandparents were married in 1907 in Elk City, OK, I know nothing about her family or where her family lived. She was said to have had a brother named Forrest Johnson. So, I could be looking for Johnsons in Arkansas, 1890's, perhaps in Texas or Oklahoma in early 1900's, or even in California before 1920. Father: C.B.
