    3. Hi, Sorry, I can't make any connections with you ladies and your Johnson lines: John M and Martha Cutler....................... Jeanne's line Thompson and Catherine Flowers.............Phyllis' line Jacob Johns(t)on b. 1809..........................Kristen' s line I don't have enough info on my family to connect our lines, but that doesn't mean there isn't some connection beyond where we are all stuck with our research. My John J. Johnson b. 04 Oct 1790 PA d. 26 Sep 1843 md 7 Nov. 1811 to Barbara Hunt b. 12 Feb 1788 MD d. 17 Dec 1860 Jay Co. Indiana. The family was living in Fayette Co. Springhill twp in 1831. John died before they reached Indiana, but I don't know where along the way he died. Their children were: Sarah, Thomas B, John J, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann, Huldah, Katherine G., Rachel M, Elisha Garfield, and Benjamin R. I have John's mother's first name Mary (nee?) b Dec. 3, 1763 and died Dec 20, 1835. I don't know what his father's name was. I also have Barbara Hunt's mother's first name, Elizabeth b. ? and died. 25 Sep 1841. I don't know her father's name. I have no siblings for John or Barbara, so I can't be of help here. Your time frame for James fits as a possible brother, but I can't prove that one way or the other. 3. For anyone doing Johnson or other family research, did you know you can get a Username and Password from your local library to research from your home computer the Heritage Quest website? If you decide to do this, after you get to the Heritage Quest page, click on "Search Books" then "People", then you sign in. When the search page comes up, type in Johnson and you'll get a long list of books online relating to the Johnson families. (Just type in Johnson under surname, do not type in a place, or you'll get every town and county named Johnson). Good Luck, Kaye Looking for the family of William Johnson, Jr. Jefferson Township, Switzerland Co., Indiana

    1. Seasons wishes.
    2. Friends, family, fellow travelers...... A repeat of last years note With the hopes and wishes of the holiday season upon us I pause and reflect on the joys that our searches have brought upon us all. While some have had their heartstrings pulled with the closing of a chapter to our family trees, and others have had the joy of announcing a new chapter starting. We all find heartfelt joy in the myriad of ways that we support each other in our endeavors to fill in the blanks. With each page we turn we not only are reporting our info but remember to also glean anything else off the pages of history that will be a help. At times reading the lists I never see something about my branch then, in the words of Emeril "Bam!" a date, a place, a book appears. Thanks to all of you who enjoy the hunt and share with the rest of us. And know that as I continue to search I will do the same. May this time of spiritual renewal bring you the wishes you so richly deserve, May you find that missing picture with names and dates, may you find that long sought after document. May the politicians realize we are just trying to find our roots and not trying to steal identities. May that little bit of extra info be the piece that mends fences and that someone is there to enjoy and read your tome and go WOW we really were a cool family. So with what ever religion you follow or don't, may you find inner peace and joy in this time of reflection on the coming of the new year. My addition to this note from last year is a special thanks to the doctors and nurses and their support staff at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis for the open heart surgery that I had on Oct 26th of this year. Thanks to them, I get to keep searching for my little tidbits to give my brother and his children and sister and finding more cousins. :-) Respectfully Keith W Brown Keith W Brown Indianapolis IN http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/r/o/Keith-W-Brown

    3. In the Grainger County, Tennessee Will of Stephen Johnson, he lists as one of the executors, his nephew Larkin Johnson. Larkin is the son of Thomas Johnson, per the Grainger County Will of Thomas Johnson Therefore, it is safe to assume that Stephen and Thomas are brothers. Thomas Johnson and Barbara Hutcheson were married in Halifax County, as were Elizabeth Johnson and Daniel Hutcheson. I have assumed that since Thomas and Elizabeth were living in Halifax County, that so were Stephen, James and William. Elizabeth being their sister is assumption. Have no information on descendants of Daniel and Elizabeth. I have seen one file that lists the marriage of James and Susannah as being in Halifax County, but have not seen it listed anywhere else. Another assumption here: at least some of the children of Thomas and James are indicated to have been born in Virginia, which would go with the Halifax County, or at least a Virginia marriage for both. Everything I have seen on the children of Stephen and William indicates their children were born in Tennessee. Guess it's possible that they may not have married until they came to Tennessee. Have no information on Johnson parents.
