    1. Green and hawksin County Tn area
    2. Tony Johnson
    3. Just a few more Tidbits on this Area, Washington County NC and Washington Co. Va. both claimed this area as being parts of their State. You can find deeds in these areas. My interest in the time of 1783-1800 was Hudson Johnson-Johnston on of the Founders of Rogersville This area was also claimed by the State Of Jefferson, whose files are in Wisconson State. It seems a visting Proffesor who was working on the Lost State of Jefferson was given permission to remove files. So he took them back and never returned them. Notes Lee County Va was also part of Washington Co. Va at one time and is a border county. Tony

    1. Re: [JOHNSON] JOEL JOHNSON
    2. Linda Griffin
    3. Hi Jane, Just wondering if there is a connection to two Joel Johnson's and a Daniel Johnson? Daniel born ABT. 1815--1818 in NC and his brother Joel ABT 1812-- 1814 in NC. Joel had a wife named Elizabeth ?..Think she may have been born ABT. 1814 in NC ? Married about 1834-35 in NC.. D: ABT 1880. What I have is their first child is a Albert Larkin..B: l/23/1836..NC --D: 7/1/1917 in Bradley Co., TN ..then on another paper it shows this Larkin as born in McMinn Co., TN. So that is a little confusing to me. Then it shows they had four daughters and another son named Timothy B: 1850 in McMinn CO., TN. His brother Daniel Johnson from NC married a Margaret J. Brannon and stayed in McMinn Co., TN for a while then ABT. 1840 they moved over to Bradley Co.,TN and had their family.there..Then Joel and Elizabeth moved to Bradley Co., TN ABT. 1850 with all of there children..Daniel and Margaret J. Brannon had all of their children in Bradley Co., TN And they had five sons and a daughter named Elizabeth born 1856. Their sons were: James H Johnson, B: 1841 John Y. Johnson, B: 1843--D:3/25/1888, in Bradley Co., TN Joel Erie Johnson B: June 1847 and married a Isabelle Caroline Triplett. He died in 1915 in McMinn D: 1915 in McMinn CO., TN -he and Isabelle are buried at Carlock Cemetery. Hugh B: 1848 and D: 1900 Daniel Jr. B: 1852 in Bradley Co., TN as all the others were. Three of the brothers married Varnell sisters. Have been looking for the parents to Daniel Johnson and his brother Joel for a long time. We think their father was named Joel Johnson .. There was a Joel Johnson in the right age category that lived in McMinn Co., TN with an older woman living with him..figured that might be the mother. All of these Johnson's are buried at Chilcutt Cemetery near Cleveland TN in Bradley Co. Sure hope you have some More information or that I have given you some information. Have that John Y. Johnson who was the second son of Daniel and Margaret J. Brannon had a son named Joseph B: 1869, Isaac Daniel Johnson , B: 1868 in Bradley Co., TN, Lafayett Johnson, B: 1874, Bradley Co., TN, Florence Johnson, B: 1876, Bradley Co., TN, and Gussie Johnson, B: 1879, Bradley Co., TN. This would be wonderful if your Joel is related to these families. Johnson that I have on my web site. However, that does not mean that you are not correct it may just means I have not done enough research on Benjamin Johnson. See my web site below. Please let me know if you should find a clue that will connect. ----------------------- Ed Adams See My Home Page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~adams1895

    2. James Johnson born 1825 in Madison County, Kentucky. Parents born in Virginia, according to 1880 census. James Johnson and all or at least some of his family left Kentucky in 1929, (he was 4 yrs. old), and moved to Hendricks Co., Indiana. By 1880, James was in Linn Co., Iowa, was married to Sylvia Bliss (who thank goodness has a vast record!), and had alot of children, all born in Iowa: Samuel Ward Johnson born 1856 & died in Iowa 1948 Perry Lee Johnson - born 1857 & died in Iowa 1937 Thomas Jefferson Johnson - born 1859 & not known when or where he died or was buried. James Clinton Johnson - born 1860 & died 1946 in Iowa Orren Olin Johnson - born 1862 in Iowa & not known when or where he died. George Everette Johnson - born 1864 in Iowa & not known when or where he died Sarah Ann Johnson - born "before" 1867 and not known when or where she died (she married a Charles Garrett) Mary Elizabeth Johnson - born about 1867 in Iowa and not known when or where she died. She married an Arthur H. McLeod Oliver Ervin Johnson - born1868 in Iowa and not known when or where he died Jay Bliss Johnson - born1869 in Iowa and died abt. 1912 not sure where. He is buried in Iowa He married Cora Bell Miller 1894 in Meckling, Clay County, South Dakota. Charley Edwin Johnson - born 1871 in Iowa. Not known when or where he died. Sylvia Rosalia Johnson - abt. 1877. May have died in Colorado. She married Jeff Morgan and they lived in Colorado. James and Sylvia moved to Guthrie County, Iowa after their children were born, or most of their children were born. Sylvia died in 1893 and is buried in Guthrie County, Iowa, near her son Jay. James died in 1895 in South Dakota, Clay County, when he was there mining, sometimes with some of his sons. He may have been buried there. James & Sylvia's son Perry married Rachel Maris (another well documented lady thank goodness) and they had two sons, Glen, and Guy, who died without issue, and also had Myrtle Anna, Edna Sylvia, Clara Lucille, Ethel Rebecca, and Gladys Ruth. Edna S. married Gene Barker and one of their children was named Lucille. Lucille married Ralph Chism and had me.

If you know your history better than I do you already know, the Battle of Bunker Hill was June 17, 1775. You see my dilemma. I am missing a generation I really would like to see a list of the dead at Bunker Hill. Is there such a thing. I've googled all day. 3. My Johnson line begins with my paternal grandmother, Zona Mae Johnson Little. She was born in August of 1896 in Rogers, Texas in Bell County. I have her line proven back to my GGG Grandfather, Joseph Johnson and pretty much back to his father, Joel Johnson. My Johnson's came to Texas from Martin County, North Carolina with Joseph Johnson and his wife, Martha Bryant Johnson. All of their children except the last one were born in Martin County, North Carolina. I have found them in the census and I know for sure that they came here from Martin County, North Carolina. In fact, my GG Grandfather, Redden Hezekiah Johnson moved back to North Carolina after my GG Grandmother Cecila Ann Fortenberry Johnson died in 1916. Here is my Johnson line from my grandmother: Grandmother: Zona Mae Johnson born August 1896 in Bell County, Texas. Married Reuben S. Little. 2. Brenda Caldwell
    3. My problem brick wall is John Johnson who married 1777 in Pelham, Mass. Jean/Jane Johnston. They later moved to Vermont where they died in 1816 and 1836. They had Thomas born in Mass. in 1780; Patience, born and died in Mass. in 1783; Benjamin K. born in 785; James born in 1785. John was a Revolutionary War Veteran but died too early to file a pension claim. I am quite sure that they were part of the Scots/Irish group who originally came to Boston but have not been able to prove. I sure would appreciate any information anyone could give me on the birth dates, birth places and parents of John and Jean/Jane Johnson. Brenda
