I now have pictures of all my great grandparents except for William Perry Johnson and Margaret Francis Denison. If any one can provide information in that direction or if they have a picture of the couple and/or the family, I would surely appreciate it. There will be a combined Nelson/Johnson Reunion at the Farmer's Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in the Blockhouse Valley area of Anderson County on July 15th, beginning at 11:00 for the descendants of John Johnson and Eliza Hensley Johnson and Jave Nelson and Ellen Evans Nelson. John and Eliza's son, Rev. John Johnson, pastored several Baptist churches in the Anderson County area, including Farmer's Grove, New Salem, Zion and Spring Hill. Rev. John Johnson's daughter Elene married David Nelson. The elder John was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia in 1814. Jave Nelson is thought to be a direct descendant of Joseph Anderson for whom Anderson County is named. Ellen's parents, Thomas and Permelia York Evans, came to East Tennessee from Knox County, Kentucky following the Civil War. John and Eliza Johnson's children included Jerome, George, Napoleon, John, Thomas, Mary, William, Martha, Demarcus, Samintha and Richard. Jave and Ellen Nelson'schildren included David, Henry, Catherine, Frank, Tom, Cynthia, Page, Taylor, Sam and Clara. A covered dish lunch will be served at the reunion around noon. Following lunch, there will be fun, games and prizes for the kids and music for the older folks to enjoy. Bring your musical instruments if you want to join in. We will have the usual displays including family histories, pictures, books and other memorabilia. Family and friends are all welcome. One of my brick walls has just crumbled. My daughter found my grandfather's brother who was supose to be in Nobles Co., but was in Jackson Co. I didn't know how many Olof's there was in MN, big problem was he was going by Fred (middle name was Fredrik) he came to US in 1887 from Sweden with wife Charlotta and son Carl (age 2). Found he had 10 children alltogether with one dying before 1900. Have census for 1900 -1930. Does anyone know if MN interloans their state census to other states? With no 1890 census thought 1895 might shed some light on missing child. Any thoughts, Thanks Jean

Wouldn't you know I'd be on vacation the week Roll Call comes around! I have James W. JOHNSON, born 1820, perhaps in Waterford, New London County, CT. He married Hannah Lester BEEBE May 26, 1844 at the First Baptist Church, Waterford. They were married by Francis Darrow, Minister of the Gospel They had the following children: Annie Johnson Alonzo Mortimer Johnson, b. September 10, 1848, d. July 21, 1938, both in Waterford. Louise Johnson, b. 1857, d. 1948. She married Elias BISHOP. James W. Johnson was a stonemason, and is buried in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in New London County. Family tradition has it that James was a "bound boy". I take that to mean that James was the means by which his family worked off a debt, or that he learned the trade of stonemasonry by binding himself to a master mason for a period of years. At any rate, James died October 14, 1915 (at the age of 95) in Waterford, New London County, CT. I am descended from Alonzo Mortimer Johnson. I would love to know more of James' parents and siblings (if any). -Pat. Wary
Deed - Bejamin Johnston and wife Martha sells land to William Love. dated 16 May 1758. both Benjamin and Martha, his wife signed with their mark. Have copy of this deed. Not my family.. Is it yours????
I copied a few files from 1765 to 1771 of Johnstons in GA while I was in GA archives. I was hoping this might be my William but feel that it is not. These deeds give William Johnston's wife as Martha, John Johnston's wife as Amy and also mentions Lewis Johnston and Benjamin. If this is your family Let me know. In the documents, the name is given as Johnson most of the time, but signature was JOHNSTON.. and William and John sighned their names. Thier wives sighned with a mark. Betty Vaughn Searching in GA for my William Johnston born before 1720 Scotland. to colonies in 1740s. Came in at St. Mary's GA.
