    3. AT, I hope I'm a cousin!! Did you have any Johnsons in Rockbridge Co., VA? Rockbridge Co. is adjacent to Amherst Co. and also connects to Nelson Co. My gg grandfather, John A. Johnson was b. 14 July 1814 in Rockbridge Co., VA, d. 5 Sep 1896 in Clinton Co., TN; this is what is on his tombstone. I have found he is in the 11th Dist. of Knox Co., TN on 2 June 1843. This is the birth date of his firstborn, Jerome Johnson, from Jerome's Civil War records. Also he is in Bearden, 11th Dist., Knox Co. in 1846. He had 4 sons by his first wife and we know nothing about her. George W. and Napoleon Bonapart (twins) born 27 June 1845 and John A. Jr. born 17 Jun 1847. He married his second wife, Mary Eliza Hensley on 10 Nov 1848. They had Thomas, 1849; Mary Alice, 1851; William M. 1854; Martha, 1855; Demarcus, 1859; Margaret, 1861 and all born in Knox Co. In Anderson Co.: Samintha, 1866; James N., 1870; Joseph, 1879 and Richard 1879. I do not know if they were twins. Helen Robinson Texas

    3. Am very slow at this myself Tony so to get say Bonnie Flythe which I never connected until now. This Lab in PALO ALTO, CA 94303 WITH A TOLL FREE number 800-326-6457 and called IGENEX and I know this has nothing to do with JOHNSON'S and I have six of the PEE kits for people to be tested which my Dr. Had me have done and I tested positive for Lyme Disease and it ONLY' took the Dr.'S to find out what was wrong with me AFTER ALL THESE 20 YEARS..so I started doing family research into my JOHNSON family line and my father who is dead and was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters. Only one brother who is now 75 years old and an aunt but the DNA lab back there only does work now on the males. So, I talked my uncle into having it done which was very hard but he finally came through for me. Just need to know how to read it and find out which other 'JOHNSON'S' he is connected to. It is a very simple test to take..you just swab your cheeks as I understand it .Tony I'm pretty sure you had this done didn't you? Sure would like to compare with any other Johnson who has had this test done. It will be well worth it before all our elderly male relatives die off. So now they have my uncles and he matches I believe with five or six others I believe..with this .as you can tell sometimes by my typing I do get mixed up..but that is where I can count on any of the other 'JOHNSON' relatives to come through and help me. Here is the web site for the testing www.FamilyTreeDNA.com Sure would like to know how many Johnson's out there had this testing done. Had my uncle do the 25 marker test if that if of any help. 3. I found this John and Margaret Johnson on an 1850 Census in Fayette, TN. Does anyone have any information on them. They had a son, John Johnson, dob 1827, AR; daughter Margaret, dob 1832, TN; James, dob 1834, TN; and Darcus, dob 1835, TN. Seems to follow a connection I have found for a John Johnson, dob, AR, on an 1880 Census in Polk Co., AR. There is an error in the transcribing and they have Johnsen. There is also a possibility that he was full blood Cherokee. This particular John Johnson is my gggrandfather. It has him with Louisa, but this may not be his first wife. My ggrandfather was also John J. Johnson, dob 1857, KY.

    1. Re: [JOHNSON] RE- COUSINS IN BOTH FAMILIES- I BELIEVE THAT I NEED HELP FROM BOTH OF YOU
    2. Hello Linda, Does this information contain any information on Johnsons that migrated to the Eastern Shore, specifically Sussex and Kent Co, DE. I have been searching in vane for James P. Johnson b. Dec. 1836 in DE. His mother was Nancy (N) born ca. 1799, and I have no idea what his father's name was. He had siblings Robert 1819, Lewis 1820, Eliza A. 1826, Eunice 1829, Rhoda A. 1846 and William 1849. (William may have been a grandson?) James married Mary J. (N) ca 1855. She was born in July 1827. According to the census, she had two children by that time presumably by a previous marriage. Their names were Ann M. b. 1847 and Joseph H. b. 1852. I have no idea what their surnames were. She and James had two more children James H. b. 1855 and Charlotte A. b. 1858. Charlotte is my great, great grandmother. She married Joseph E. Willey b. Jan 1855 on 11 Mar 1874 in Sussex Co, DE, and they were divorced with Joseph raising the three children by 1900. My great aunt, who knew Charlotte, says she was Delaware Indian, but I have been unable to connect her to the tribes in the area. There is an extensive population Johnsons among the Nanticoke Indians in and around Millsboro, Sussex Co, DE, but I have also been unable to connect to them or the Delaware population in Kent Co, DE. I would really appreciate some guidance even vague to point me in the right direction. Thanks so much, Clara -------------- Original message ----------------------e From: "Linda Griffin" <[email protected]> > Am a little confused here. So sorry for the loss of Mr. Bailey because you can by reading your email all the talents that Mr. Bailey had..in reading your email over a couple of times I am just amazed at all the wonderful things that Mr. Bailey had done with his life and we should be so proud of his achievements and to give our condolences to his family for through you we can see who he was. Am very, very proud of any Veteran and especially one like Mr. Bailey who it would have been an honor just to have known him. Have a cousin who has his Doctorate Degree in the First Baptish Church but he is nowhere near the age of Mr. Bailey or the kind of person you can by reading your letter that Mr. Bailey was. Having grown up in a small town and living my whole life here I have come in contact with a couple of very Honorable Veterans and ones that you loved hearing their stories of the war. Went to my very first Military funeral three weeks ago for our first casuality in the Iraqi War of my little town. Knew the family well and grew up with them and he was only thirty one when his vehicle was blown up. The bomb was wired to a tire and he was the only one in it. This happened in Bagdad. He didn't join the military until he was twenty three and he had a wife and one child with one on the way when he asked her permission to join the army then..so his son that was born while he was over in Iraqi was only nine years old...but He had a Great calling to join the Army all his life. Hope this helps some. Ga. Recently someone from Young`s line had a DNA and found he wasn`t a Johnson at all but a Ivey with some Busby. I`m hopeing to use this to find John`s parents, or at least to give me some clues to further my research. Thank you for all your work Sandra
