Yet another update on my own e-mail. A fellow COMBS research found the following information for me: This Perry Co., Ky. marriage: 1924 Combs Matilda & Thomas Johnson v30 p32 Source: Perry Co., Ky. Marriage Index, transcribed by Lynda Combs Gipson. http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyperry3/femalemarriages.html I am now looking for information on the parents of Thomas "Tommie" JOHNSON who married Matilda "Tilda" COMBS in 1924 in Perry Co., KY. I'm 99% sure that this is my Tilda as this is the third time I've seen her mentioned as "Matilda" even though I never new my ggmother as such. I have the census record with her and her second husband: 1930 Marsh Fork, Raleigh, WV Bell BANKS, 27, KY Matilda, 26 Nannie, 11 Fern, 8 Ellen, 6 Clyde, 5 Ida M, 4 5/12 Junior 3 10/12 My step-ggfather was Bill Banks, my ggmother was Tilda, my gfather was Junior and the rest are my g-aunts and uncles that I actually grew up knowing. Tilda & Thomas JOHNSON had two children, the above mentioned Junior and Polly May. I think that his parents are the Isaac & Malissia Johnson listed in the 1930 Census of my original post, but if anyone has them in their family??? In a week or so I'll be sending off for a copy of the marriage certificate of Tommie and Tilda to see if his parents' names are mentioned. The "widower" part is throwing me off, which is what he's listed as in the census.
