I do not know the meaning to a Quaker, but Hebrews 13:4 tells us what it is under the new testament law. Hebrews 13:4 (American Standard Version) 4 Let marriage be had in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Sex within the marriage is honorable, sex outside of marriage is either fornication or adultery therefore any married person who has sex with any person other than his or her own mate commits adultery and therefore defiles the bed.
