Well Randy, I did have good intentions this morning - getting yours and Freidas transfers made and index pages revised. I got Freida's done and then the link for the West Virginia site came in and knowing me - you can guess what happened. I Just sent Randy, Earl and Eleanor a letter with an attachment - off list. One MAJOR correction - William Jobe, son of John Jobe and Priscillia Young, did have a son, who married Martha Chaffin and appear on the 1880 Lawrence Co., KY census did have a son, Thomas, age 8 on that census. However, he is not the Thomas who married Rachel Susan Midkiff and lived in Cabell Co., West Virginia. This Thomas Jobe from all indications was born February 23, 1859 Ohio with his father being born in Pennsylvania. His death certificate lists his father as Samuel F. Jobe and his mother as Lueanna Rogers. We're lucky in that There is also a death certificate for Samuel F. Jobe who died October 14, 1889 Cabell Co., West Virginia. This Samuel was a blacksmith and was born in Brooks, VA. He was 63 when he died. His wife is listed as Luanna. His father is listed as Jacob and his mother as Anna. This therefore makes this Samuel F. Jobe the son of Jacob W. Job and Nancy Ann Fetrow and a brother to William T. Jobe and he did not marry. He lived with his brother Thomas in the later census records. His death record lists his parents as Samuel Jobe and Lorianna Rogers. Now from the 1880 census above, I still don't know what happened to the sons, Charles and Carlos? (you want to make ann attempt at reading this - let me know and I'll send you the actual). Ancestry transcribed both sons as Charles, but the 2nd one isn't Charles. Also, not sure yet what happened to Mary and Hattie. Anyone have any ideas or discover more form the WV site - keep me posted.
