The Hutchinson News-Herald Fri. 23 March 1951 Pg 8 Col 8 Fred L McAtee Landon[sic] -Funeral for Fred L McAtee will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Langdon Methodist church with burial in Langdon cemetery. Mr. McAtee died Monday might in his home on the eve of his 56th wedding anniversary. Mr McAtee was born Apr 16, 1864, near Princeton, Mo. He came to Kansas in 1883 and helped lay some some of the Rock Island railroad tracks in this area. Later he settled on a farm near Langdon. Survivors are the widow, Lena, three daughters, Mrs. J.B.Spiegel, Topeka; Mrs Floyd Beagley, Turon, and Mrs Don Glough, Langdon; two sons, Perry, Arlington, and J.O., San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs Hila Lowery, Huron, S.D.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. ---------------------- MY ID: wife of Frederick Lincoln 'Fred' McAtee (above) The Hutchinson News-Herald Tue 22 Dec1953 Pg 10 Col 4 Mrs Lena McAtee Langdon - The funeral for Mrs. Lena Leota McAtee, 79, who died late Sunday night at her home in Langdon, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Langdon Methodist church. He was born in Nodaway county Missouri in 1858. He is survived by his widow and five children; Victor and Cecil, Langdon, Earl J., Ralston, Okla., Mrs Ralph Truitt, Hutchinson, and Mrs. Baker McDill, Sterling.
