Jobe, 85, of 704 Colorado Ave., Eldon, died Tuesday, Jan 31, 1978, at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Jobe was born June 14, 1892, at Rocky Mount, to Thomas L. and Lizzy Hall Jobe. Jan. 26, 1913, he was married to Dora Strange, June 4, 1955, he married Ethel Pemberton Pope. For 32 years Mr. Jobe was a stationery fireman with the Rock Island Railroad. he retired in the early 1950s and farmed. Among survivors are three sons, Lyman Jobe, Kansas City, Cleatus Jobe, Independence and Francis Ray Pope, Eldon; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Bigulatura, Kansas City, Mrs. Lois Boeck, Gravois Mills, and Mrs. Shirley Witt and Mrs. George M. Johnson, both of Eldon; two brothers, E. T. Jobe Jachatus, Ore., and C. A. Jobe, Torrance, Calif. and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, one in infancy and Vernon D. Jobe. in 1962; a daughter Mrs. Juanita Abbott in 1969; and one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Stevenson will officiate and burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens.
