Eighth St. Eldon, were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. The Rev. Don Wainwright officiated and burial was in Dooley Cemetery. Mrs. Jobe died Saturday Dec. 16, 1978, at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born Jan. 21, 1897 in Miller County to John A. and Sarah Woods Jones. Aug. 30, 1917 she was married at Eldon to Richard Parks Jobe, who died in Dec. 1922. Mrs. Jobe was a member of the Eldon First Baptist Church, Miller Rebekah Lodge and the ____ Neighbors Club. Surviving her are a son Richard Jobe, Eldon, two sisters Mrs. Gertrude Strange and Mrs. Dessie Pruitt both of Eldon, a brother George Jones, Eldon, a ____ brother, John A. Jones, Kansas City, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. (Note: This obit is very dark and one corner is very hard to read.)

    3. Can anyone identify this Richard Parks Jobe - Bessie's husband? We know that he is also buried at Dooley Cemetery and apparently fought in World War I. "Jobe, Richard P. Co A 60th Inf. 5 Div 27 May 1894 - 12 Dec 1922" My guess, at this time, is that he is either a son or very closely related to the family of William Tipton Jobe and Hannah Elizabeth Gorge. William Tipton Jobe was s/o Henry Jobe and Sarah Anna Headrick and gs/o Logan Jobe and Mary Saling. If anyone has access to obits for Miller Co., MIssouri for 1922 time frame, please look for this Richard Parks Jobe. Thanks!
