Today was I was sent by Tim Job ( a recent subscriber to our list) a copy of a hand drawn tree that came from a family reunion that was held in 1982. At the time I was away at school. Somewhere around '86 I got in contact with president of that reunion and he gave me the chart. It simply only has names without dates and wifes. This chart is 1.32 M and when printed out is 20 pages which then have to be put back together - 4 wide and 5 in length. I got it all printed out and put together and it s the size of my kitchen table. Now if anyone else (whose information I have in Jobe Branches) would like a copy and can handle a file of this size, please write me personally at [email protected] and I'll e-mail it to you as an attachment! Tim had the high speed cable connection so for him was very fast. For me with a 56 modem and 550 speed processor, Windows 98, it took me about 3-4 minutes - so wasn't too bad! Does anyone know if this reunion is still going on? By the way, Tim would love to hear from other researchers of Thomas Job of Rowan Co., NC. I should have him on the researcher's page later on today. His grandfather is Albert Glenn Jobe (Jan 3, 1899 Guilford Co, NC - March 31, 1969) s/o William Augustus Jobe and Lou Ellan Hackett (m. Sept 4, 1887) s/o Josiah Green Jobe and Mary Cabel (m. Aug 6, 1850 Guilford Co., NC) s/o Moses Columbus Jobe and Martha Ann 'Patty' Phipps (m. Oct 8, 1816 Guilford Co., NC) s/o John Jobe Sr. and Elizabeth Ruggle s/o Thomas Job and Mary ? of Rowan Co., NC Tim's address is [email protected] P.S. Freida and I both have been getting some wonderful information lately and want to thank everyone who has contributed lately. Today I received an obit just from someone who knew I was working on the Jobe family. We received all those obits from Carolyn Nickols. I received some Arkansas Cemetery listings and some cemetery listings and for McAtee. Sherman sent some 1910 TNn census records. Emma posted several obits not long ago! Charlotte sent several things for Freida to post to original scans! Know this isn't all - but does give an example of how the files are growing and some of the data that I have to post on the state pages and researcher's page as I get a chance! Keep the information coming! Remember we are a TEAM and we need everyone's help! When at the library, check for Jobe records, check your local newspaper for any Jobe obits and please send them to me, you read a census and see a Jobe name, please copy and send to me! It could be just the link that we need! Also remember as you visit older relatives this summer - go through those old trunks - we need old letters, diaries, Bible records, pics, etc! And PLEASE if you are a lurker to this list and haven't posted your line or a query - please do so! I just found out recently that someone had been following my updates for months and didn't write. Come to find out this person is an Oregon Co.,MO Jobe descendant and you know how thrilled when I find one of them as that is mind own line! I just don't find too many of those. Part of the reason being that many of the boys died as young children and that left girls! As soon as we get all this new information posted and entered, I'll being doing another update as I use the index on Jobe Legacy, Jobe Branches, and Jobe Twigs - almost as much as I do the one in my FTM as can search by date, place and by a spouses's name. Ann (Jobe) Brown Always searching for more Job(e) descendants!
