W. Jobe, 79, Dies Friday / Frail of Heart Ailment 14 Years William Wallace Jobe a retired farmer who had lived ten miles south of California since 1914, died there Friday afternoon, October 14. His death came unexpectedly although he had been in frail health for 14 years of a heart ailment. Mr. Jobe was born January 9, 1887 north of California a son of Ben Franklin (probably should read William Franklin) and Mary Ogdon Jobe. On May 3, 1911 he was married to Julia Vaughan. She survives at the home. Other survivors are two sons, Albert W. Jobe, California, MO., and Frank Jobe, Pilot Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Charley Bowles and Mrs. Herbert Peters, both of California, MO; ten grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were five brothers and four sisters. Mr. Jobe was a member of the Corticelli Baptist Church, southeast of California. He formerly served on the Prairie Grove School Board and for many years was a former district road overseer. Services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Bowlin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Hilligoss officiating. Jack Bowlin was the soloist. Burial was in the California city Cemetery.
