Born at Sedan on Oct. 14, 1904, she was the daughter of John and Lena Downs Copple. After graduation from Sedan High School in 1922, she attended normal school and taught in Chautauqua County for a year. On April 11, 1923, she married Cecil W. Henderson at Independence, and they lived in the Gridley, Kan. area. In 1941, they moved to the Dexter area, and Mrs. Henderson later worked at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Dexter until her retirement. Henderson preceded her in death in 1983, and she moved to Arkansas City in 1984. Mrs. Henderson was a former member of the Dexter Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ, and a member of the Bible Christian Church, Arkansas City. She was a 50-year member of the Dexter Order of the Eastern Star and the Winfield Beauceant. Survivors include her son John Henderson, Hutchinson; a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Sandra) Eastman, Arkansas City; three sisters, Muriel Murrell, Longwood, Fla.; Menifee Cullen, Arlington, Va. Marjorie Fairley, Yale, Ok.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dexter Christian Church, with interment in the Dexter Cemetery. Miles Memorial Vhapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials have been established with the Dexter Christian Church and Bible Christian Church, Arkansas City.
