Pneumonia Fatal to Mrs. C. E. Jobe Mrs. C. E. Jobe, 74, died at her home 8 miles south of town Saturday night, January 17 at 8:45 o'clock. She had been bedfast for the past month and in frail health for a number of years. Her death was caused from an attack of pneumonia. A daughter of William J. and Pernecia Vaughan, she was born June 2, 1878 in the Mt. Pleasant area northwest of California. She was married to Elmer Jobe January 10, 1909. They had lived at their present farm home for the past 19 years. Mrs. Jobe was a member of the Corticelli Baptist church. Besides her husband, Mrs. Jobe is survived by two daughters, Miss Sylvia Jobe of the home and Mrs. Curtis Vernon who lives near the home, twin sons, Elmer and Emmett Jobe, both in St. Louis, five grandchildren, a brother Willie Vaughan in Cole County near Russellville and two sisters Mrs. Leonard Jobe, of this city and Mrs. Willie Jobe, south of town. Three Vaughan sisters married three Jobe brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Corticelli church the Rev. N. E. Williams of Eldon officiating. Burial was in the New City Cemetery in California.
