She was born June 6, 1918, in Jefferson City, a daughter of August and Ola Jobe Smith. She was married Aug. 8, 1936, to Aaron Knife, then on Jan. 27, 1945, to Leemon Brown, who preceded her in death in 1952. She was married September 19, 1953, to Oscar 'Slim' Baker, who preceded her in death in 1979. She attended the Jefferson City public schools and graduated from Jefferson City High School. She worked at Oberman's Manufacturing Co. for several years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors include: one son, Billy Ray Knife, Jefferson City; one brother, August Smith, Jr., Centertown; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Wanda June Howard, preceded her in death in 1991. Services were held Tuesday at Buescher Memorial Home, with the Rev. George Scantlan officiating. Burial was in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
