    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. I'm now starting on updating of the Caleb Jobe records. Patti is still working on Enoch, Freida is sending me letters to post, and Randy is still working on the Cecil Co., Maryland documents. So we are all 'busy' updating the site with new data. Also have Margaret and Lonnie busy with transcribing. You can help to - find any documents, photos, cemetery pictures and send to me. A special thanks to Alan Sparks for the early tax records which Patti will be posting later on today and to Margaret for the additions to her family - coming up. I'm now ready for anything on the John Jobe - Sarah Elsey - Hannah E. Jackson Family. Next will be the Chase Jobe - Nancy Meadows group (Lonnie's). Also, if you have anything for the Elizabeth (Job) Leath descendants, please go ahead and send. -------- Matilda 'Mattie' Jobe and William Huckabary/Huckbay Records http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/mattie_huckabay.html #1 1873 - Marriage Notice - Huckabary - Jobe --Submitted by Randy Jobe --Transcribed by Lonnie Vander Pol "MARRIED HUCKABARY - JOBE - On the third of March 1873, at the residence of Mr. Monroe Jopling in Pettis county, by Rev. 1. [JOBE] Col Louis Jobe
    2. Freida Wells
    3. I received the following letter from George W. Jobe and wanted to pass it on. Thank you so much George for writing and telling us more about this family. Freida George and Betty Jobe <stud52us@yahoo.com> wrote: From: George W. Jobe, Lt. Col USAF MSC Retired Freida: I can provide some information regarding Dr. Louis Jobe. I met Dr. Jobe sometime in the period 1966 to 1969. I was serving in the Air Force at Dobbins AFB, GA and Col (Dr) Jobe was commander of the Army hospital at Fort McPherson, GA approximately 30 miles away. Although I did not know him, I went to visit him at Ft. McPherson. He recieved me warmly and we both believed that we were cousins but did not establish a direct kinship. Upon retirement Col Jobe settled in Biloxi, MS as did I, and we occasionally would see one another. Both Col Jobe and his widow are now deceased. Biloxi is in Harrison county. He and his wife lived at 2465 South Shore Drive in Biloxi and should appear on the 1990 census. Col Jobe had a brother of some prominence in Mississippi. Dr (PHD) Euclid Ray Jobe "ER" was an educator. He served for a number of years on the State College Board and was highly respected. Some say that he was the founder of our system of community colleges in Mississippi as well as our Research and Development Center and our Educational Television system in Mississippi. Following my retirement from the Air Force, I was employed by the Mississippi Health Care Commission. I lived in Jackson for 12 years where I came to know Dr. E.R. He is now deceased, but his widow survives. I believe she was a second wife following the death of the first Mrs. Jobe. There waa s sister; Mary Alice Jobe Hammond of Houston, Texas. I know nothing more of her. There was also another brother in the Washington, D.C. area, I know nothing about him. I talked with E.R.'s surviving spouses caregiver by phone 02/20/08 and gathered some information, but Mrs. Doris is 94 and her memory is not as good as it once was. Dr. Louis and brother E.R. were older then I, by perhaps 10 years. My impression was that they came from Blue Mountain, MS, Tippah county, but Mrs. Doris says Winona, Montgomery county. I expect you might find them in the 1920 or 1930 census. I hope this is helpful. My line is: Andrew, Andrew Jr., Caleb, Samuel, Daniel, John F. Wiley T., George F., Arnold, George George W.
