    3. Is there someone in Camden County, MO that could get a copy of the last marriage listed here? This is my gr-gr grandfather and his second wife. I live about an hour's drive north of Camdenton in California and don't get down that direction very often and don't know when the next time will be. I had looked in all the natural places (Moniteau, Miller and Morgan Counties) since I knew he had picked her up near Rocky Mount in Miller County. Never thought to look to the south in Camden County. Thanks in advance for anyone who could help. I will pay any costs and send address to anyone that can help. Alan Sparks "Ann (Jobe) Brown" wrote: > Freeman Jobe is s/o Edgar E. 2. The GenForum has a new look and they have a search engine now on the site of what ever you are looking for such as I just did a search on the Casteel family. I was looking for Issac Casteel and it gave me three, but none where the ones I was looking for. It is nice you no longer have to set and read all the messages you can just do a search for the person you are looking for. <A HREF="http://genforum.genealogy.com/">GenForum</A> Freida

    3. I do not know the meaning to a Quaker, but Hebrews 13:4 tells us what it is under the new testament law. Hebrews 13:4 (American Standard Version) 4 Let marriage be had in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Sex within the marriage is honorable, sex outside of marriage is either fornication or adultery therefore any married person who has sex with any person other than his or her own mate commits adultery and therefore defiles the bed. Apparently in this case both parties had committed adultery. Val Jobe [email protected]

    2. How strict were they in the time frame you're referring to... and were they Quakers ? At various points in time, anything other than the "Missionary position" was verbotten. I seem to recall that procreating for pleasure rather than too produce children was also a no-no. And our ancestors took their taboos and their salvation very seriously. You know Frieda, I wouldn't respond to this question for just anybody....<grin> Mj Patti Jobe wrote: > goodness--only thing I can think of it referring to, would be sex before > marriage......I'll see if I can find anything on it. > Patti > > > Can anyone on the list tell me what on earth this means? > > Freida > > > > > > Church Records: Selected Areas of PA, 1600s-1800s > > > > 4/1/1740 - . > > William Miller and Rachel his wife laid before the meeting a paper > condemning > > their defiling their marriage bed. > > > > > > > >
