    3. I was reading the responses to my inquiry and realized I had forgotten where I had been. I traveled through St. Joseph, MO TO Maryville, Nodaway, MO to look for some Gingrich graves. In another part of the cemetery, I found the grave of William Lewis Job (1892-1975) and Katie E. Sallee (1898-1985). Adjacent to that stone is Jessie M. Sallee (1878-1921). I took a photo of the title gate of the cemetery, but can't find IT right now. It is the cemetery on the SE side of Maryvill, across the street to the north from the Catholic cemetery. Sorry for the confusion. Cordially, Floyd E. 3. Patti, I was looking for a Samuel E. Jobe who died rather recently. Just realized it was his son - so found it. The one that you're referring to is Harold Jobe who died Oct 9, 1999 Jefferson City, Cold co., MO - s/o Samuel Edgar Jobe and Eliza Christina Byergo and gs/o Augustus Washington Jobe and Elizabeth V. Phelps and gt gs/o Iraby Stone Jobe and Mary Chilton and gt gt gs/o Caleb Jobe and Sallie Pryor. So to answer your question - the Lewis Jobe/ Nancy Wright descend from the Thomas Job of North Carolina -Jobe Branches. And Harold who died fairly recently in Jefferson City, MO is descended from Andrew Job Jr - through Caleb Job and Barbary ? (Jobe Legacy). So Harold is a descendant of Andrew Job Jr and Lewis Jobe who married Nancy Wright is NOT a descendant of Andrew Job, JUNIOR. Ann > How is this William Jobe (if at all) related to the Samuel E. 3. For some reason I can't find this Samuel in my records right now! I remember him clearly! If you have that obit handy or can find it again - please resend to me! I probably have him entered someway besides Samuel E. On my way to church at the moment - but will check later on. Frustrating that I can't find him. I probably don't have him entered because he is the 9th generation and is in my paper files. However, he should be since he is no longer living. Off hand though I believe the Sameul E. Jobe you're thinking about does descend from William G. Jobe and Clara E. Bishop. William G. Jobe is the s/o Lewis whose grave was found. 3. Charlotte, Looks like you have found something that I didn't hav eor know - but can place the family! Very important discovery!! Please send anything you can on this. If you can scan these to me at [email protected] - please do! I had no idea where this Henry or John Jobe went to - but this has to be them. They had a sister named Maria that I know for sure and an unknown daughter who is probably Elizabeth. The only one I had information on of these children is the William Jobe who remained in Martinsburg, Berkley County, Virginia and married Ann Isabel Bales. I had lost track of ALL of his siblings and looks like you have found them. THANKS so much!! Now they are all children of Henry Jobe Sr.born November 06, 1789 banks of the Susquehanna River, Pennsylvania and died in Martinsburg, Berkley Co., Virginia (buried Brucetown Brick Church Cemetery, Frederick Co, VA) - though I don't have the date. He married Elizabeth Miller May 14, 1807 in Martinsburg, Berkley Co, Virginia (present-day West Virginia). Henry Jobe Sr. was the s/o Andrew Jobe and Abigail Miller who married Jan 31, 1786 Berkley Co., Virginia and gs/o Archibald Job and Margaret Rees and gt. gs/o Thomas Vernon Job and Elizabeth Maxwell. See Jobe Legacy and Book of Jobe. However, you will see we have nothing on where the children, Henry, John, Elizabeth and Maria went - only the parents and the son William Jobe who remained in Berkley Co., West Virginia. Now we know where to look for them and hopefully may fill in some of these miscellaneous charts that I have! If anyone knows anything about these Jobe people which Charlotte mentions below - please post to the list or write me as ASAP. Ann [email protected] P:.S. -I was going to change the subject line as this is totally different - but then realized that in the archives - the threads wouldn't match and wanted others to know who this family really is and to know to contact me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "* Charlotte" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, December 03, 2000 3:16 AM Subject: Re: [JOBE] Lewis Job, St. Joseph, MO > I've found a Henry Jobe in Jackson County MO...these are land records...but I've not looked them over yet...there is a McCay there was well, there appears to be several of them that have had several land transactions in Jackson County MO about 1848/1850... > > Henry Jobe apparently dies about 1849...in a power of attorney dated in 1849...there is an Elizabeth Jobe and Maria Jobe of Berkley County and William Jobe of Frederick County, State of VA, who appoint John Jobe of Jefferson County, OH as their attorney to handle the estate of of Henry Job dec'd late of Kansas Jackson County MO, including interests in St. Louis and counties of Jackson, Vanbursen in MO...attorney has power to sell and transfer stocks, land title, interests in and to all houses lots of land etc.. > > Charlotte > >
