    1. [JOBE] JOBE TWIGS - now up
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. I now have Jobe Twigs uploaded with TWO miscellaneous files. It can be found at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown1 Remember the GOAL of this file is not to grow (though it will as I continue to add the many miscellaneous files that I have) but to CONNECT these files to Jobe Legacy or Jobe Branches as I believe they will. Jobe Twigs will NOT contain all of my miscellaneous Jobe files - but ONLY those that I believe will eventually connect back to Andrew Job, Sr. These files go along with the ones that have 'summaries' on this researcher's page! http://members.tripod.com/~ajobebrown/Researchers-mysteries.html I will be putting a link to Jobe Twigs for the files on this page as I get them uploaded to Jobe Twigs. Hopefully we'll get more exposure to these miscellaneous files and make more connections (and answer some of my many questions) by having this file on World Connect also. As usual, a link to Jobe Twigs appears under Jobe Branches at the top of the Jobe Links/States page http://members.tripod.com/~ajobebrown/Jobe.html Good luck! Ann (Jobe) Brown

    1. [JOBE] JOBE TWIGS - a new project
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Still too cold here to go out much, so I've started a new project to work on before I go to Texas for the first two weeks of March. This will be a new file on World Connect and will be called JOBE TWIGS. This will be several of my miscellaneous Jobe files - that I really feel will EVENTUALLY CONNECT to Andrew Job, Sr. - either through Jobe Legacy or Jobe Branches. (Once a connection is made - the file will be moved into Jobe Legacy or Jobe Branches) and off of Jobe Twigs. So far I have entered into FTM one file that consists of the descendants of James Jobe (born about 1805 Virginia) who married Elizabeth Theresa Stephens Nov 13, 1845 Montgomery Co., TN. Descendants lived in the Dickson, Stewart and Montgomery Cos., TN. If anyone on the list descends from this family or knows anything about these descendants (especially the parents of this James Jobe) - I would love to hear from you. I have one more file that I'm going to enter on the family of James Daniel Jobe born 21 April 1859 MO who married Margaret Jane Wade 21 March 1878 Denton Co., Texas and then I'll post this. Will continue to add some miscellaneous files and hopefully find out more about these and make that 'link' that I've been searching for. I have SEVERAL of these miscellaneous files - some are very small and some are HUGE!! That is why I decided to put them all together so I can transfer from one to the other as connections are made and all will be in my index! So hopefully if your Jobe line is not posted yet - it soon will be! >smile< Everyone stay warm! Ann (Jobe) Brown (Wishing she was in Warm Australia instead of Freezing Canada)

    1. [JOBE] 1883 Jobe History and newspaper articles
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Has anyone ever heard of or seen A History of the Job Family and Some Marriage Connections, and their Descendants for Two Hundred Years written by Colonel Edwin Wilmer in 1883 - husband of Hannah Elizabeth Megredy (d/o Daniel Megredy and Mary Reynolds and gd/o John Megredy and Elizabeth Maxwell Jobe)? Supposedly, M. W. Blair (whose work I have seen) corrected and revised the history in 1898. Also, this Edwin Wilmer wrote a series of interesting articles for the Smyrna Times which appeared in 1880. They were reminiscences of what Smyrna was like 50 years ago (therefore in the years 1830 or so). They were reproduced (in part) in Feb of 1931 in that same newspaper. Has anyone ever seen any of these? Ann

    1. [JOBE] Happy New Year
    2. Hello all, I wanted to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. I am still in Kansas and received some very bad news. I very good friend of mine died Friday and his funeral is Thursday. His wife and I grew up together and have been friends all our lives. They use to come to our house when we lived here every 4th of July and we would have a barbecue and shoot fireworks when our children were small. and we fished together all the time. It is very hard on me as this is the second good friend I have lost and helped bury in the last 11 years. I am going to miss my friend very much. Today we sat and looked at old photos for a story board for the funeral and laughed and remembered good times from times gone by. I don't know when I will be back, but know if you need help this wonderful group we have will be happy to assist you in anyway they can. Please do not respond to this email, I am writing from the public library in Sedan, Kansas and don't know when I will be back again to check my mail. Hope all of you have a wonderful and save and Happy New Year. Freida
