    1. Moniteau Co., MO Obits - Need help on ID
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Have to give SPECIAL THANKS to Emma for posting several Jobe obits from the Moniteau Co., MO area. --------------------- For you Enoch Job Missouri Researchers, do any of you remember or know of an August Smith who would have married Ola Jobe between 1910 and 1916 either in Moniteau or Cole Co., Missouri. I have a couple of possibilities, but not enough to place at the moment. --------1) one of these possiblities is the one that I'm showing as Ora C. (from 1910 census - could this be Ola C.?) Jobe (d/o David Coulter 'D.C.' Jobe and Ida Mae Hogan --------2) Sarah Viola 'Ola' Jobe born abt 1874 (d/o William Franklin Jobe and Mary Wyatt Ogden) (However, I believe she is too old and I already know of another marriage for her) The SSDI does show one Ola Smith born Sept 16, 1890 and died June 1964. (issued MO and death place issued only as MO) I'm not sure if this would be the one that we're looking for or now. --------------- I'm also looking for the parents of Della Mae Jobe who married Cordova C. Inman BEFORE 1920 probably California, Moniteau Co., MO Area. ---------- The others I could identify and their obits will appear in the notes of the next update. Ann

    1. Andrew Jr - Researchers
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. I just updated this page AGAIN - several new additions in the last two days! http://members.tripod.com/~ajobebrown/researcher-Andrew.html For those interested in the 'Behind the Scenes' stories, well I have another one that happened TODAY. This researcher wrote me about William Pryor Jobe and we could not find any connection. But in a second letter, he writes and says that William Pryor Jobe served in the civil war with his ancestor, William Jasper Beaty who had married Nancy ODLE. Well it was like I was hit on the head with a rock - Nancy (Odle) and Wiliam Jasper Beaty are in my files and Nancy is a Jobe descendant! Well as you can guess - this researcher hit a gold mine!! Not only did I already have his Odle - Jobe ancestors traced, but I was able (from the Andrew Jr Researcher's page) able to put him in contact with another researcher who had several more of his lines carried backward that don't appear on Jobe Legacy. Well had to share another SUCCESS STORY!! Though Jobe Legacy was just updated, it will be updated AGAIN within the next 3-4 days as I have recieved a great deal of information for this file in the last TWO DAYS! This came about from writing some letters to researchers on the Andrew Jr List that I had incomplete listings for or hadn't heard from in a while. Ann

    1. Wanted to Share - Behind the scene!
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Freida's gracious letter made me want to share some of the happenings 'behind the Jobe research scenes'. Sure we are all searching for those elusive Jobe ancestors - but two events that happened this week (that I was a part of) really brought tears to my eyes. 1) There are these two 1st cousins, in fact living very near each other, and BOTH come in contact with me. Neither was aware that the other was doing genealogy. They are now in contact with each other and working together. Plus one was able to get a picture that he had seen years ago on the wall at his grandparents, but had lost the picture. 2) Another one concerns an aunt and a nephew. Both found me through Jobe Legacy and what was strange was that the nephew, now in his 30's, had a booklet prepared by this aunt. She was so thrilled to learn that he still had the booklet and more so that he is NOW interested in the family history. They are now writing each other! Plus, I just heard from two whose work I've know for years. Both were contributors to the Jobe Journal and one I used to write to myself back in the early 1970's. Besides him I used to correspond with his father. By the way, many many years ago I used to correspond with Freida's mother. Who would have though!! I'm so glad I started doing this when I was 16 and had some of the best teachers around! And a special thanks to Randy, Sherman and Freida who got me doing this AGAIN! I just kept thinking - I've been away too long and I'll never learn how to 'master' this computer! And for those who say, my children just aren't interested! Give them time. It is just AMAZING how many that I hear from whose parents I used to correspond with. The parents were in 60's, 70's and the children were 20's - 30's and many said my children just don't care. Well, guess what, those children are now interested and pulling their hair out and are thrilled beyond words when they stumble across one of us 'old timers' , as many of us call ourselves, even though there are a 'few' of us between 45-55 and we remember their parent, grandparents, etc. Now these are REWARDS that I never expected. Even my mother who by the way now lives in the old house where I grew up, gets letters addressed to me with my maiden name and my 'ex' surname. And on one of my other lines, I just found a cousin who had an uncle that actually lived in the house that I grew up in while a child. They had the house 10 years before my parents did. He described the house perfectly as I remember it - before my mother made all those renovations. Just thought some of you might be interested in hearing about some of a 'different kind' of success story and the benefits of doing genealogy! JOBE COUSINS ARE THE BEST!! Ann (Jobe) Brown

    1. Andrew Jobe Researcher's Page.
    2. Hello all, I am just truely amazed at the number of people who are researching the JOBE name. Our ancestors would be so proud of all of us that we are working so hard to carry on their heritage. I know of no other list that has this kind of research and a person like Ann to keep it all in order for us. This has got to be a record for the number of people working on one lineage. Sure there are many working on a surname, but I don't know of any from one single person like we have from Andrew, Jr. Hat's off to all of us and especially Ann for her diligent work to keep this going. Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Cheers! Freida
