There is also a photo album. Seems they are adding more to it and it is going to have a lot of information on this site. http://theoldentimes.com/ Freida

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Freida From: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 9:09 AM Subject: Re: WW I Soldiers Freida, This is really a long shot, but I don't want to assume anything. You know, one of my Gr. Uncles, Luther Jobe, disappeared from Greene County Ark during the 1910 period. No one ever heard from him after that. We have never found any evidence on him whatsoever. He was born in 1873-76 in Faulkner Co. Arkansas and he still may have been young enough to join the war efforts -- not likely, but possible. Just wanted to let you know in case you run across any Luther's you cannot place. 1. Jobe Legacy Updated
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Good Day everyone! I FINALLY got Jobe Legacy updated (after several tries). It has 703 NEW entries since the last update - so many new additions here. If you have any corrections - please get them to me ASAP as I leave very early THIS Friday morning - away for 15 days! JOBE LEGACY http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown If there is anything really important to be corrected, I'll try to do it before I leave! -No Promises! >grin< (That is why I went ahead with the update TODAY) Major updates are listed below. PLEASE NOTE that many of the families, I had listed as MacKay are now being listed as McKay. The children of Patience Jobe - Robert MacKay, Jr are still being listed as MacKay, as well as the children of Mary Jobe and Moses Green MacKay, Elizabeth MacKay who married Abraham Jobe and Margaret MacKay who married Joshua Jobe. What I'm NOW DOING in my files is listing the children and grandchildren of Robert MacKay, Sr. as MacKay and the rest as McKay. However, only the ones who are Jobe descendants show up in Jobe Legacy. Please remember if you are researching a Jobe-MacKay descendant to check Michael McKay's pages - Clan MacKay as this site does have the LATEST research on the MacKay/McKay just as (hopefully) we have the latest on the Job/Jobe lines. This link will appear on SEVERAL OF THE NOTES of the various descendants and ALSO APPEARS on the Jobe Homepages Link. I do highly recommend their site! For the Jobe surname - I have kept the JOBE spelling throughout. HOWEVER, please note that MOST BEFORE 1800 did use the Job spelling. Also many of our branch in the Lewis Co., MO area (Jeremiah Job line) used the Job spelling. In the more recent generation, some of this branch have also switched to the Jobe spelling. Also, remember that ALL NOTES use the spelling as found in the actual record! In many of the lines - you will see the spelling going back and forth! Since I research ALL Job(e) (all spellings) - I've had to keep the spelling the same - for my own sanity and ability to find people fast when checking marriages, census, deeds, obits, whatever! Corrections, updates, etc - please write me PERSONALLY at [email protected] P.S. - I tried to change Freida's address in ALL the notes - but I have to be the first to admit - I bet I didn't catch them all. She will be letting me know (as she discovers them) - which family pages still have the wrong address. Meanwhile - please remember her new address is [email protected] There are also a couple of others that have new addresses - so when in doubt - please check the researcher's page as that page should be CURRENT! Should you find your address wrong on a family group page, if you write and let me know WHICH FAMILY GROUP PAGE - I will correct it for the next update. PPS - SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE NEWEST UPDATES!! MAJOR ADDITIONS include: 1) SSDI and some obits on Page Co., VA Jobe families 2) Marriages dates for 2 marriages of John Wiley Jobe (s/o James M.. Jobe of Alcorn Co., MS) 3) Una Ross 'Rose' Jobe (d/o Jesse Logan Jobe) 4) John Bernard McCloskey and Mary Louisa Anderson 5) Jamie Della Jobe Huff (d/o James M.. Jobe) 6) Thomas J. Azbell and Susannah Jobe 7) Oliver Logue and Mary Cole - several additions here! 8) William P. Barron and Elizabeth Douglas (gs/o Phoebe Jobe Barron) 9) John Armstrong Murray and Martha Bacon (gd/o Phoebe Jobe Barron) 10) Edith Martin - d/o Charles 'Charlie' Jobe & Frances Gertrude 'Fannie' Wilson 11) Minnie E. Jobe Stayton (d/o John Steven Jobe & Amanda Hendricks) 12) Etta Mae Jobe & Louis Russell Coale (d/o Buckner Russell Conrad Jobe) 13) George Jobe - s/o George Jobe and Eliza Mahulda Murray 14) James Berry Jobe (s/o Luther Pipkin Jobe & gs/o Wiley Taylor Jobe) 15) Mary (Jobe) Gilliam (gd/o Samuel Jobe & Margaret Stubblefield) 16) Elden Jobe and Margaret Lisch (dates from SSDI added) 17) SEVERAL changes/additions made to Patience Job - Robert MacKay line - descend from this line or copied any before - PLEASE CHECK IT! 18) James F. Jobe and Elizabeth Brown (s/o Samuel Jobe and Sarah Frank) Ann (Jobe) Brown

    1. When I'm An Old Lady
    2. Freida Wells
    3. I received the following poem in the mail today from a PUCKETT cousin and just had to share with you. I could relate to this real well as I have only one child....a son. Freida [email protected] When I’m An Old Lady When I’m an old lady, I’ll live with my son, and make his life happy and filled with such fun, I want to pay back all the joy he’s provided, returning each deed. Oh, he’ll be so excited....when I’m an old lady and live with my son. I’ll write on the wall with red, white and blue; and bounce on the furniture wearing my shoes. I’ll drink from the carton and then leave it out....when I’m an old lady and live with my son. Whe he’s on the phone and just out of reach, I’ll get into things like sugar and bleach. Oh, he'll snap his fingers and then shake his head, and when he is done I’ll hide under the bed....when I’m an old lady and live with my son. When my son’s wife cooks dinner and calls me to meals, I’ll not eat my green beans or salads congealed. I’ll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table, and when she gets angry, run as fast as I able....when I’m an old lady and live with my son. I’ll sit close to the TV, thru the channels I’ll click, I’ll cross both my eyes to see if they stick, I’ll take off my socks and throw one away, and play in the mud until the end of the day....when I’m an old lady and live with my son. And later, in bed, I’ll lay back and sigh, and thank God in prayer and then close my eyes; and my son will look down with a smile slowly creeping, and say with a groan, "She’s so sweet when she’s sleeping"....when I live with my son.

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
