3. Hi....since you mentioned AR cemeteries.... Sarah (Jobe) Douthit's grandson, Uriah J Douthit removed from Surry co NC to then Lawrence.now Sharp Co AR about 1859 (he had an 1859 land patent) His youngest child was born in 1866 and Uriah J was gone by the 1870 Census. I haven't been able to find him in any cemetery books. I assume he might have been buried on his land. Do you have any idea how I might find out for sure ? I was also told that there weren't any Will books (commercially abstracted ones) for AR. Do you know if that is accurate info ? Thanks....malinda "Ann (Jobe) Brown" wrote: > Thanks Rick! > I'll get them posted in the next few days to the Arkansas Cemetery page! > Really appreciate! 3. Greetings all, I would like to invite all of you to view a new website I am working on, it is called "OLD MAPS OF THE UNITED STATES". I have not seen one like this anywhere, so today I began working on it. I am fortunate to have maps I have collected over the years and a few years ago a friend gave me a Rand McNally Atlas dated 1884, in which the pages are in color. They are beginning to fade some, so I have inhanced them to be brighter again. I will be adding more to the site each day, so be sure and check back often. I hope that you like my site, and if you have any maps you can share, please send to me and I will be happy to give you credit on the site along with the map you send. 1. Genealogy one-liners
    2. Patti Jobe
    3. HA!! Some good ones here...... Patti Jobe Genealogy One-liners My family coat of arms ties at the back ... is that normal? My family tree is a few branches short! All help appreciated. My ancestors must be in a witness protection program! Shake your family tree and watch the nuts fall! How can one ancestor cause so much TROUBLE?! I looked into my family tree and found out I was a sap ... I'm not stuck, I'm ancestrally challenged. I'm searching for myself; Have you seen me? Isn't genealogy fun? The answer to one problem leads to two more! It's 2001 ... Do you know where your G-G-Grandparents are? Am I the only person up my tree ... sure seems like it. Any family tree produces lemons, nuts, and a few bad apples. Ever find an ancestor HANGING from the family tree? Genealogy is like playing hide and seek: They hide ... I seek! Genealogy: Tracing yourself back to better people. "Crazy" is a relative term in my family. A pack rat is hard to live with but makes a fine ancestor. I Should have asked them BEFORE they died! I think my ancestors had several "Bad heir" days. I'm always late. My ancestors arrived on the JUNEflower. Only a Genealogist regards a step backwards, as progress. Heredity: Everyone believes in it until their children act like fools! Many a family tree needs pruning. Shhh! Be very, very quiet ... I'm hunting forebears. Snobs talk as if they had begotten their own ancestors! Documentation ... The hardest part of genealogy. I researched my family tree ... and apparently I don't exist!

    3. Dear Tim, Thank you so much for writing. I want to invite you to join the Jobe-L mailing list as there are several who are working on the Jobe family of NC. My database does not have any of the NC group as mine all came from VA. I am however going to send your letter to the mail list and Ann Brown who has a site called Jobe Legacy and Jobe Branches will be able to help you and maybe some of the others. Please go to this site http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/j/jobe.html and join our list we would love to have you. Then post what information you have for all of us to see. If you have any photos of your ancestors or cemetery photos please send to me as I have two sites devoted to them. Here are the sites for them. My family lives in Greensboro NC. I can trace 5 generations back in notes given to me by relatives to Thomas and Mary Job. But no further. Would you be so kind as to look in your records to see if Thomas shows up? I think he died around Nov. 15, 1787, but not sure. I was surfing around on the web today and that is how I found your name and email address. I was trying to find the parents of Thomas but with no luck. I thought he may have been the son or grandson of Andrew Job, Jr 1650-1722. If you have any advice on how to get started, I would be grateful. thanks tim

Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

    3. If anyone can identify this Leslie Jobe - please write me or the list! Presently, I cannot place him. Leslie may be a middle name. Thanks! These few that I can't identify at this time, I am entering into FTM - hoping that a connection will be found as I'm almost certain that they are descendants of Enoch! Ann > > Freeda L.
